The Research On The East Slope Of Middle Region Of Daxing'an Mountains Vertical Zone

The basic feature of mountain is the climate variation differs from the altitude,which leads to the vertical changes of vegetation,soil and the whole nature geography synthesis. So the kind of vertical changes take us a vertical zone which reflects mountain natural feature and posses a certain rank order. The research of mountain vertical zone can track back to the investigation of the Andes mountains in south America by Hongbao who is a geographer and natural history scholar in Germany .Since six decades of 20 century,many scholars in China keep on doing research on mountain vertical zone of China in different subjects and views , they bring us a lot of precious data. This is a common but important topic,which need to further study no matter in international or in domestic.The middle region of Daxing'an Mountains is one of very important forests in China. It situates in the high latitude region, so many kinds of trees grow slowly. Once forests were ruined, the ground will be easy to become wilderness,the ecosystem's function will decline, and the grassland which is next to forest will be destroyed, whose area will be diminished .At the same time, the case of soil and water loss will be intensified,and the level of salination at western plain region in northeast will be enhanced.This paper select the east slope of the middle region of Daxing'an Mountains as research region,by means of physical geography theories and methods .We chose the plains which were remained in many geological epoch as standard observation places , and we have obtained the basic numerical data by open country investigation. Base on GIS and RS,we do research on the vertical diversify of physical geography elements,and the region was classified as eight vertical zones, we introduce the physical geography features of every vertical zone in detail. Because they are impacted by the altitude,geographic setting,slope direction,topography and soil material, so the whole vertical zone becomes fragmentation,diversity and the transition from cool-temperate mixed needle-broad-leaved forest zone to needle-leaved forest zone.
