It is important to understand the mechanism of wheat tolerance to drought, to investigate the wheattranscriptional profiling drought stress, a drought tolerance variety-Hanxuan 10 was treated byPEG6000, RNA samples were collected at 0, 1, 6, and 24 hours respectively, influence dye-labeledcomplimentary DNA were used to hybridize with the whole genome rice gene chip, which contains over60K oligos designed based on rice sequence. Data analysis indicated that the number of differentiallyexpressed genes was increased as longer PEG treatment, functional category analysis results indicatethat number of energy metabolism pathway-related gene was increased and account for more portion ofdifferentially expressed genes. Most of the photosynthesis related genes was up-regulated butinterestingly, Psbr and Rubisco coding genes were down-regulated, suggesting their potential role indrought tolerance response.
