Five goat breeds were studied, including Nanjiang Brown Goat, Boer Goat, ChengduBrown Goat, Leizhou Goat and Tibetan Goat, and the sequence involved the Exon3, 4, 5and Intron3, 4 was amplified and sequenced. The base mutations were analyzed within andamong breeds in orer to study their genetic structure and phylogeny. On the other hand, The correlation analysis between GH gene polymorphism of Nanjiang Brown goat and theearly performance traits were conducted. The main results were as follows:1. The length of Exon3, 4, 5 and Intron 3, 4 was 117 bp, 229bp, 162bp, 276bp and201bp, respectively. The complete length of sequence amplied was 985bp.2. The intron 3 sequence of goat GH had 7 mutations, 3 single variable sites, 4parsimony informative sites, and the A-G transition (4/7) was the main. The intron 4sequence had 17 mutations, 7 single variable sites, 9 parsimony informative sites, one threevariants (421 loci A-G-T). The T-C (9/17) was the main type of transitional.3. The sequence of exon3, 4, 5 coded 159 amino acids. The exon3 sequence had 11mutations, 6 single variable sites, 5 parsimony informative sites, and the G-A (6/11) wasthe main mutation. This sequence coded 39 amino acids, 4 changed.The exon4 sequence found 9 mutations, and it coded 54 amino acids in which 8 aminoacids changed. 6 mutations were detected in the exon5, and the sequence coded 64 aminoacids which 6 amino acids changed4. AciⅠpolymorphisms of (GH) gene were detected by PCR-RFLPs in NanjiangBrown Goat population. The results showed that there were 3 genotypes and 2 alleles withAciⅠ, CC, TC and TT. The frequency allele C (0.635) was higher than T (0.365). As forthe FokⅠ, it had 3 genotypes and 2 alleles GG, GA, AA. The frequency of (0.665) G allelewas higher than A (0.335).The results of correlation analysis in Nanjiang Brown goats populaton showed thatdifferent genotypes had took different effects on some traits, involving body weight, body length, body height, average daily gains. The AciⅠgenotype of TC was highersignificantly than that of TT and CC (P<0.05 or P<0.01). The values of some traits ofFokⅠgenotype GA was also different significantly than that of GG and AA, such as thebody weight, body length, body height and average daily gains, respectively(P<0.05, P<0.01). It concluded that the mutation of AciⅠand FokⅠloci had significantinfluence on the early performance traits.5. There was CTCT box existed in intron 4 117bp of Nanjiang Brown goat GH.
