Fifteen hybrid combinations were made by upland cotton varieties as parentalmaterials that include 4 female parents and 4 male parents with high yield or high qualityor boll-worm resistance with different charactors following the design of North Carolina(NCⅡ). "Eza No.12" was used as the control variety. The test was made in accordance tothe design of random block and with 3 repetitions for studying yield characteristics, fiber quality, agronomic traits, resistance to insects and diseases, competitive heterosis ofF1 hybrids and the correlation between the main characteristics. Variance analysis wasmade for each index to compare the diversity among the materials. The main results wereas follows:(1) The seed cotton yield of 9 F1 hybrids were higher than that of the control "EzaNo.12"; the lint yield of 8 F1 hybrids were higher than the control, and the percentages ofyield increase varied from 1.27%to 9.96%and 0.98%to6.535%, respectively. The seedcotton yield and lint yield of the 5th (C19×Kekang312),6th (E24×R808),10th(C19×R808),11th (Hua2003×Lu1138),12th (Hua 2018×Kekang 312) and the 13thcombination (E24×lvDun2) were much higher than that of the control.(2) Yield components of the F1 hybrid, the lint percentage of 13th material(E24×lvDun 2) in F1 hybrids were higher than that of the control "Eza No.12", bollweight among 16 cross were competition heterosis than reference "Eza No.12". bollweight of 1th (C19×lvDun2) material was best. The bolls perplant of 13 F1 hybrids werehigher than that of the control "Eza No.12", The bolls perplant of lth material(C19×lvDun2) was competition heterosis.(3) The five indexes of fiber quality of the F1 hybrids were as follows. The fiberlength varied from 25.093mm and 27.473mm, the fiber uniformity was between 82.3%and 84.166%, the fiber strength changed from 23.618 cN/tex to 27.21133 cN/tex and theMicronaire values of all F1 hybrids, which varied from 5.29 to 6.046, were higher thanthe normal, the fiber uniformity of 4 F1 hybrids were competition heterosis than that ofthe control "Eza No.12", the fiber strength of 16 F1 hybrids were competition heterosisthan that of the control "Eza No.12", the elongation of 16 F1 hybrids were competitionheterosis than that of the control "Eza No.12".fiber quality of 15th material(Hua2018×lu1138), 2th material (Hua2003×lvDun2),3th material (E24×Lul138),5th material (C19×Kekang312) were better.(4) The results of agronomic characteristics indicated that the plant height of the 8F1 hybrids were competition heterosis than that of the control "Eza No.12"during july 15, August 15, September 15. the boll percentage of 14th material (C19×lu1138) wascompetition heterosis than that of the control "Eza No. 12" during july 15, the bollpercentage of 14 F1 hybrids were competition heterosis than that of the control "EzaNo. 12" during August 15, the boll percentage of 16 F1 hybrids were competitionheterosis than that of the control "Eza No. 12" during September 15.(5) The results of resistance indicated that the Fusarium wilt of 15th material(Hua2018×lu1138), 16th material (Hua 2003×R808), 17th (Hua 2018×R808)material, 10th (C19×R808), 12th (Hua 2018×Kekang 312) material material wereresistance than "E No. 18". the Verticillium wilt of 15th material (Hua2018×lu1138),16th material (Hua 2003×R808), 17th (Hua 2018×R808) th were resistance than "JNo. 11". kameisu of 10th cross (C19×R808), 11th material (Hua2003×Lu1138), 14thmaterial (C19×Lu1138), 17th material (Hua2018×R808), 7th material(Hua2003×Kekang312) were resistance than "E No.18". Helicoverpa armigera Hubnerof8 th material (E24×Kekang312),10th material (C19×R808),12th material(Hua2018×Kekang312),13th material (E 24×LvDun2). 10th material (C19×R808)were resistance than "E No.18".(6) Analysis of Genetic variance and Genetic estimate indicated that in 5 index offiber quality were affected by addition effect, yield and yield components were affectedby addition effect, agronomic traits were affected by environment and dominance.(7) The results of combing ability indicated that GCA of Female Materials C19 wasbetter in 5 index of fiber quality, yield and yield components, agronomic characteristics.SCA of 17 (Hua2018×Lu1138) F1 hybrids in 5 index of fiber quality was better.(8) The results of correlation analysis indicated that the yield showed the positivelysignificant correlations to both seed yield and lint yield, but the positively significantcorrelation was found between Fusarium wilt and the Verticillium wilt. the data showed anegative correlation between yield and fiber quality. The relatively low correlationsbetween the resistance to the Fusarium wilt and each index of the fiber quality werefound. Micronaire showed a negative correlation to the fiber length, the fiber strengh.
