1,Before the implementation of vaccination of Ingelvac(?) PRRS MLV, the reproductionperformance and production performance were evaluated, the swine herds were observed and thenecropsy were conducted. Cross sectional profile was done prior to vaccination on farm A andfarm B. It was identified that PRRS virus was playing a major role in the reproductive andrespiratory concerns.2,Both of the farms implemented the vaccination program in late July as follows: massvaccination of breeders, initial mass vaccination of pigs from day old to end of the nursery.Maintenance vaccination: quarterly mass vaccination in breeders and pre-weaning in piglets(once, 14 days). Twice vaccinations in gilts 4 weeks prior to breeding (2-3 weeks interval). After the vaccination of PRRS MLV, production information were analyzed and comparedbefore and after vaccination, the parameters included stillborn rates, pre-weaning, nursery andG-F mortality rates. In both farms, significant production improvements were observed, as wellas reduction of clinical signs associated with the disease or PRDC.It was concluded that mass vaccination with Ingelvac? PRRS MLV is effective incontrolling PRRS caused problems and consequently improving reproductive parameters andreducing mortality rates from pre-weaning-growing/finishing stages.
