Slash pine (Pinus elliotti Engelman.) was origin in east-south of USA, it is an excellent tree species because of strongly adjustability and growth fast in the nonage. Slash pine has planted 70 years in China; it is one of the most important tree species in the south China. In this paper, the pine plantation in Hongqi forestry center was researched. The test-wood was planted 14years ago, have 4 stand densities: 4444trees per hm~2, 3333trees per hm~2, 2500trees per hm~2, 1666trees per hm~2. The data of forest inventory and stem analysis were used to build models about diameter breast-high (DBH), high of tree, volume of single timber, stand volume, and these models were correlative to age and stand density. The models were transforming into three-dimension graphs, and the stand growth processes were simulated to visual images. The results were as follows:After the slash pine stands cover-overheaded, the average DBH and crown diameter are very negative correlative to stand density, the average high of branch and high of tree are a certain extent correlative to stand density; high stand density can be a certain extent accelerate high growth, but the effect is limited. When the stand density is less than 2500 trees per hm~2, the effect of stand density is weaken.The mortality rate of slash pine for pulpwood is very distinct correlative to stand density, the density is higher, and the stand is more unstable; the stand of 1666 trees per hm~2 is very stable, DBH lean to big diameter grade, so this stand density is suit to plant big diameter timber.The root number of the slash pine plantation is negative correlative to density of stand; the 4.0 cm diameter roots number is correlative to gross root number, it can be regard as one of trees' nutrition standards.The stand timber gross weight and biomass gross weight are inapparent correlate to density, consider that the aim of the slash pine, and roughly compute the planting cost, indicate that 2500 trees per hm~2 is a perfect plant density of slash pine plantation for pulpwood.The nonlinear regression function of mathematic tool software SPSS was used to build models about DBH, high of tree, volume of single timber and stand volume slash pine plantation, and these models are have a certain extant applicability.The tool software MATLAB (Matrix Laboratory) was used to make models to intuitionist three-dimensional graphs, then explain the information in the graphs; and the forestry software SVS (Stand Visualization System) was used to simulate the stand growth process visualization images, prepare for build stand visualization image records and forestry data visualization in the next research.
