The choke points of the modernization of Chinese traditional medicine industry are quality out of controlling and security fallibility. Traditional estimation methods of the quality of traditional Chinese medicine are determining certain compound by the way of quality analysis and quantitative analysis. Nevertheless, for the most traditional Chinese medicine, the medicine effect is not from any single active compound, but from many active compounds. It's very difficult to estimate nicety true and false or good and bad of the traditional Chinese medicine by any single active compound. TCM fingerprints have been provided with non-linearity characteristic of colligation, macroscopic and faintness. In order to strengthen quality controlling of Chinese traditional medicine production and safety medication in clinical, the fingerprints have been introduced to quality standard controlling of Chinese traditional medicine by SDA.Curcuma wenyujin Y.H.Chen et C.Ling is the plant of the genus of Curcuma. With the functions of promoting blood circulation to remove blood stasis, relieving stagnation of"qi"and alleviating the symptoms of viral hepatitis, it is broadly used in amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, distending or pricking pain in chest and abdomen; impairment of consciousness in febrile diseases; epilepsy; mania; jaundice with dark urine. Therapeutic activities of anti-tumor, anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-AIDS have been wildly concerned for the applications of the Curcuma wenyujin in Chinese medicines by recent years.The Main Research Content:1.According to the Pharmacopoeia of the Peple's Republic of China(2005 Edition) the water,total ash and ethanol-soluble extractives of Curcuma wenyujin are analysed. Adopting the first method of determination of Volatile Oil to determine the contents of Volatile Oil, using the indirect colorimetric method to measure the contents of curcumin derivatives and adopting the phenol–sulfuric acid method to measure the contents of polysaccharide.2. Determining the fingerprints of Curcuma wenyujin by using the technology of Near Infrared. According to "the technology request of fingerprint research of Chinese traditional medicine injection", NIR is used to develop a rapid identification method for Curcuma wenyujin. Combined with pattern recognition techniques, a NIR calibration model is build to detect the fake of Curcuma wenyujin. The results show that the proposed method is more rapid and accurate than conventional methods to identify Curcuma wenyujin. The method is so useful and helpful for quality identification and comprehensive evaluation of Curcuma wenyujin.3. Determining the fingerprints of Curcuma wenyujin by using the technology of chemical oscillation. The optimum system of BrO3--Mn2+-H+-acetone is reviewed from substrate concentration, the time of dissolution and reaction temperature. We obtain Curcuma wenyujin chemical oscillation fingerprints by the system of BrO3--Mn2+-H+-acetone. The results show that the proposed method is more rapid and accurate than conventional methods to identify Curcuma wenyujin.Fingerprints of Near Infrared and Fingerprints of chemical oscillation have been established. It's very helpful for planting, exploiting, utilizing and quality controlling of Curcuma wenyujin. However, the disquisition of the fingerprints of traditional Chinese medicine depends on elementary exploring step. The investigation of the fingerprints of traditional Chinese medicine will come into high step if fingerprints data self-contained comparatively and mathematics model reasonable comparatively can be obtained. We have to progress relativity study of fingerprints characteristic concern with medicine effect and biology equivalent study of fingerprints so that the quality estimation of traditional Chinese medicine reflect unalloyed the security and effect of medicinal materials.
