The objectives of these experiments were alfalfa and cornstalk. The method of In Vitroand In Situ were applied to study the Associative Effect of alfalfa cornstalk and concentratedsupplement in cattle rations. The optimum combination was screen to provide theory evidencefor breeding cattle, meanwhile, there are instruction sense that alfalfa was applied reasonable incattle diet. The system design method was applied, concentration and roughage rate is 40:60,to studythe Associative Effect of total mixed rations in different nutrition level (low, medium, high)and propotion of alfalfa (20%,30%,40%).Three cattle fitted with permanent cannulas were used as donated animals for collectingrumen fluid, rumen fluid and artificial buffer is 1:2.There are 9 kinds of various rations andnutrient compose of cattle total mixed rations. Gas production was recorded on 3,6,12,24,48,72 hour.pH,NH3-N,MCP,VFA,degradation rate of DM and CF fermentation 24 hoursIn Vitro, Moreover, these parameters were applied as the comprehensive judgment of multiplefactors to evaluate the fermentation effects of 9 kinds total mixed rations. Meanwhile, theDM,NDF,ADF degradation rate were determined In Situ after 24 hours. The result show thatthe maximum Associative Effect was observed in the group of alfalfa 40%in differentnutrition level when concentration and roughage rate is 40:60;With the increase of nutritionlevel of concentrate supplement, the Associative Effect of alfalfa, cornstalk, concentratesupplement increase simultaneously; The maximum Associative Effect was screen whenalfalfa adittion 40%, using high nutrition level concentrate supplement; In same nutrition level, concentration and roughage rate as 40:60, The maximum Associative Effect was observedwhen alfalfa added 40%as added 20-40%; In different nutrition level when concentration androughage rate as 40:60, the same rate of alfalfa and cornstalk, The maximum AssociativeEffect was evaluated when applied high nutrition level concentrate supplement; From thisexperiment the results indicated that the DM degradation rate correlated significantly (P<0.05)between In Vitro and In Situ, ADF NDF degradation rate In Situ and Acetate,Butyate InVitro correlated significantly (P<0.05); It can be seen that In Vitro can be applied whenresearch Associative Effect in cattle diets. Furthermore, the optimum time is 24 hoursfermented In Vitro.
