This study was conducted to investigate the effects of rumen microbial population, ruminal environment, fibre degradation and cellulase activity in sheep under different nitrogen sources. Objective to regulate and control the rumen microbes,On the exploitation of the potentials of rumen microbial so as to improve the degradation rate of fibre,These offers theoretical basis to fully utilize local forage resources and develop animal husbandry.1 Effect of different nitrogen sources on rumen microbial population and ruminal environment in sheep12 Sunite healthy sheep weighting about 50 Kg were randomized allocated in four groups. The main nitrogen sources diets were soybean meal (groupâ… ), fish meal (groupâ…¡), cottonseed meal (groupâ…¢) and sunflowerseed meal (groupâ…£) for different groups respectively.Green hay as roughage, concentrate and forage ratio was 3:7. The results showed that there were no significant differences in the population of rumen bacteria and fungi in four diets (P>0.05); Nitrogen sources had significant effects on the number of cellulosis bacteria and protozoa (P<0.05). Diets had significant influence on the pH value and the concentration of microbe protein(P<0.05),and no significant effects on the concentration of NH3-N and VFA(P>0.05).2 Effect of different nitrogen sources on degradation of fibre and cellulase activity in sheep rumenExperimental animals and diets were the same as experiment 1 . The results showed that :Four diets had no significant differences in the rate of degradation of fibre(P>0.05), Groupâ…¢was highest than the other groups; There were no significant differences in solid fractional passage rate and liquid fractional passage rate in different groups (P>0.05). Different nitrogen sources diets had significant influence on the cellulase activity in rumen solid digesta (P<0.05),and no significant influences on the cellulase activity in rumen liquid digesta (P>0.05). According to the tested results, The cellulase activity in rumen solid digesta could reflect the actual circumstances of rumen than the cellulase activity in rumen liquid digesta.3 Effect of different nitrogen sources on nitrogen metabolismExperimental animals and diets were the same as experiment 1. The results showed that nitrogen efficiency of groupâ…¡and groupâ…¢were higher than that of others. Nitrogen digestibility of groupâ… and groupâ…¢were higher than that of groupâ…¡and groupâ…£(P<0.05).Comprehensive analysis of results indicated that sheep had high degradation capability of fibre. Nitrogen efficiency and nitrogen digestibility were higher in cottonseed meal group. So toxicity of cottonseed meal was removed and that cottonseed meal was used as feeds. It would be benefitted for exploitation and utilization of roughages.
