This field experiments were carried out at Zhungeer of Inner Mongolia, a Northern China semi-arid region which has aboundant daylight and the farmland soil impoverishment. By the way of limited supplemental irrigation, The effects of physiological character , effects of yield which are generated by maize supplemental quantity of irrigation in different periods and technology of plasticulture were studied. The field test results showed that the supplemental irrigation of harvested rainwater in key period of need water maize was very remarkable for yield and water use efficiency in arid areas where surface water and groundwater are heavy scarce, with fashion of drop irrigation .1) With the growth of maize dry matter accumulation increasing, the dry matter reached highest at complete maturing stage. Through logistic equation calculation it fit logistic equation and they have apparent correlation. Can be described as"S"curve. Plastic mulching and bed-irrigating sowing with irrigated suited in shooting stage was the key to semi-arid area.2) Dry matter distribution centre was different in all maize life. Plastic mulching and bed-irrigating sowing with irrigated can make the growing centre transfer at suit time. The the transfer of growth centre of CK postphoned and yield declined. Nutrients vegetative organs3) The change of photosynthetic rate in a day was all showed parabola types. But the time of reaching peak of max was different. They all took single peak curve.4) The change of Cond in a day showed parabola types too.The differenece between them was the plastic mulching and non bed-irrigated on maize reached peak at 9:00 and comparing with other treatments it was smaller.5) Cond,Ci,and Ls were related to photosynthetic rate directly. stoma limitation was mainly related to the decrease in strong light situation. Photosynthetic rate was higher at ear bearing stage than shooting stage and filling stage.6)Water deficit in seeding stage leads to high MDA and proline content . The activity of SOD and POD was decreased. It can enhance the ability of fighting drought in maize in the latter stage.7) LAI of plastic mulching and bed-irrigating sowing with irrigated in shooting stage on maize was increasing quickly in early stage ,and also kept LAI at high level. The time of CK's height reached the hightest at last. The stem diameter of maize changed the same as the height in early and middle stages, but reduced in latter stage.8) compare with the comparison(normal)plastic mulching on maize were 5days premature, plastic mulching on maize and bed-irrigating sowing were 7 days premature, Supplemental Irrigation in key stages plastic mulching on maize and bed-irrigating sowing was 10-12days premature. The one irrigated increased weight of 1000 kernels, number of kernels per ear, number of rows per ear, number of kernels per row,the length of ear and the radius of ear. It's barren ear length decreased.9)The yield was not always increasing with irrigation quantities increased, The one Plastic mulching on maize and bed-irrigating with irrigated 225m3/hm2 in shooting stage has best efficiency.
