Potential suitable areas of the pine wood nematodes, Bursaphelenchus xylophilus and Monochamus alternatus Hope were described with quantification, according to their biological characteristics and relationship of their development and environment, six key factors were chosen namely, year average temperature, hottest month average temperature, altitude, days above 25℃,hours of sunlight and precipitation were regarged as biological factors of Bursaphelenchus xylophilus. Year average temperature, hottest month average temperature, altitude, effective accumulated temperature, hours of sunlight and precipitation were regarged as biological factors of Monochamus alternatus Hope. Their subordination functions were defined with math method of synthetic assessment on fuzzy mathematics. Climatic data of 739 sites obtained from state weather administration were processed by excel in order to get its subordination value, and comprehensive suitable value of every site was calculated by creation of fuzzy judgment matrix. Finally ArcGIS8.0 software was adopted for data collection, processing and analysis to make thematic map, five environmental types were graded according to comprehensive suitable value.Combining the host of Bursaphelenchus xylophilus in Yunnan province, Potential suitable areas of the pine wood nematodes in Yunnan province were obtained.
