Impedance spectra parameters such as;R_e,R_i,Z~″,C_m and f_c were investigated to illustrate the physiology mechanism of Platycladus orientalis during water-lossing process. The changes of moisture content of P.orientalis branches, the impedance values in different frequencies were studied during the water-loss treatment in this paper. It showed that the extracellular and intracellular resistance increased gradually with the degree of drought stress, and the range of extracellular resistance was much higher than that of intracellular resistance. The membrane capacitance varies with the water content of the branch of P.orientalis during the drought stress process. It changed in the reverse way with the the water content of the branch. The absolute value of Z~″gradually increased with the decrease of water content but the frequency characteristics decreased in this process。Compared with the pressure chamber method and the impedance spectroscopy method,it can be conclude that they should be able to support each other in the mechanism of drought research. It is cleared that the impedance spectroscopy could measure the intracellular resistance, extracellular resistance and membrane capacitance in a non-destructive way.And the parameters of impedance spectroscopy could be used to analyze drought-resistant mechanism of Platycladus orientalis in drought stress.
