Study On The Control Technique For The Main Diseases Of Sweetpotato

Sweetpotato is a good multi-use crop in food, feed and raw material,which has high output, rich nutrient, wide adapt. Recently, researchers at home and abroad do a series of deeply research about the nutrition and health role of the sweetpotato. As a new nutrition and health functional foods, it causes great attention increasingly. Because of Pollution-free and harmless in the production and storage, it was called"Ideally food in 21st century"by some experts. The impact and industrialization will be more widespread.Type of diseases and pests is variety in China. More than 30 kinds of diseases and pests have been reported, but the damage of sweetpotato black rot, sweetpotato root rot, sweetpotato stem nematode and sweetpotato bacterial wilt is serious. All these diseases can occur in the seedling stage, growth period and storage. It causes damage of seeding rot, growth postponed and so on, the worst can cause extinct extremely. Production of sweetpotato is affected gravely, which causes the prodction and quality deeply descent.The control of sweetpotato diseases includes using disease-resistant variety, physical, agricultural, biological and chemical control and so on. The method of using disease-resistant variety is most economical and effective, but it is very difficult to breed the variety of high output and quality. The methods of physical and agricultural take a long time to show notable effect. Comparing with chemical medicine, the method of biocontrol has low market share because of its high price, bad stability, short effective store scheduled time and so on. At present, the chemical control which is the mainest method for it becomes effective quickly.This research studied the effect of three kinds of medicament on controlling sweetpotato black rot with 70% thiophanate-methyl, 50% carbendazim and 50% amobam during storage and the effect of four kinds of medicament on controlling sweetpotato stem nematode with 40% isofenphos-methyl, 50% phoxim, 5% aldicarb and 5% ethoprophos in the field. All results showed that three kinds of medicament on controlling sweetpotato black rot is effective, the control effect of 70% thiophanate-methyl and 50% carbendazim were above 90%, 50% amobam was above 80%. The four kinds of medicament on controlling sweetpotato stem nematode with 40% isofenphos-methyl, 50% phoxim, 5% aldicarb and 5% ethoprophos in the field showed obvious effect, the control effect were 88.81%, 83.29%, 93.63% and 90.35%.
