1.Breaking dormancy of Ferula(Ferula fukanensis Shen)seeds we have three methods to choose from: (1) GA3 Treatment: Place the peeled Ferula seeds in different MS1/2 solutions with a concentrations of GA3 (0.2, 0.5, 1,2mg/L). The results for each concentration ratio showed higher germination percentage (GP %) than the control. However, concentration levels less than 0.5mg/L show an increasing GP (%) with a threshold at 0.5mg/L and subsequent decreasing with levels higher than 0.5mg/L. (2)Water treatment: The seeds treated with water for 5 or 20 days show higher GP(%) (77%, 85% respectively) than the best ratio in GA3 (0.5mg/L at 70%) in the same environment as mentioned above. (3) Seeds sowed after stratification treatment. All in all, the best way to break the Dormancy of Ferula can be to use GA3 (0.5mg/L) solution or water. Therefore water treatment is the best way as it can be easily applied to field cultivation.2.The Crude extract of the Ferula seed was prepared with water and NaHCO2 treatment to study on seed dormancy and an intrinsic inhibitor in the Ferula seed. And then made an assessment of the effects of the Crude extracts on the wheat germination (Bioassay). The results showed that the inhabitation effects of the crude extract prepared with NaHCO2 Treatment on the wheat germination was significantly higher than that of water treatment. The Alkaloid extract from the Ferula seeds had the same inhabitation effects on the wheat germination, which was conducted by the same way as the above. From the results of that research, an initial conclusion can be made that the factors which have the inhabitation effects in Ferula germination might be either ABA or organic Alkaloids.3. The content of soluble sugar, starch, lipid and protein of treated Ferula seeds were investigated in this paper. The results showed that the starch and soluble sugar content had the similar increasing tendency while lipid and protein decreasing from their original state of control group. Initial determination that lipid was a storage used for metabolism while seed germination was made. The lipids decreasing due to the increasing of starch content.4. The study was conducted to investigate the activity of theαandβ? amylase of Ferula seeds under the different time treatment. The results indicated that there wereαandβ?amylase activities in the dormancy maintaining seeds. the results that the activity ofα?amylase in Embryo was higher than that of Endosperm shows that the most important part of synthesisα?amylase would be Embryo As the prolongation of treatment time ,theβ?amylase activity increased but it had net been affected by soluble sugar. Therefore,β? amylase was considered that it has a certain relationship with seed's germination actives.
