The paper study the wood properties of the 6 years old Poplar Clones in Populus deltoides Marsh the analysis of variance of all properties shew, there is a significant differences among all Poplar Clones in Populus deltoides Marsh in fiber length of sapwood, fiber length of heartwood and wood density, the conclusion manifested the difference abundantly among clones in fiber length of sapwood, fiber length of heartwood and wood density.The investigation in the chemicial ingredients of all clones indicated that the content of cellulose of clone 45, 8-22 and 61 was higher correspondingly, was 47.75%, 47.72% and 47.25% respectively, furthermore the content of lignose of clone 45, 8-22 and 61 was lower, which was 18.24%, 18.46% and 18.62% respectively. So for the fine pulping clones, clone45, 8-22 and 61 can be the good selections.The investigation in fiber length of clones shew that the length of fiber of sapwood was middling of clone 21, 5, 4-59, 12-23, 8-22 and 1-52, for satisfying the requirement of the length of fiber in pulping making, these clones was perfect selection.The measurement in wood density of clones manifested that the wood density was higher of clone 12-23, 7-52, 21, 8-22, 45 and 4-49 than other clones, the density were 452kg/m3, 432 kg/m3, 431 kg/m3, 428 kg/m3, 420 kg/m3, 406 kg/m3. Wood density correlated with mechanics properties of wood, pulping productivity and quality significantly. So clone 12-23, 7-52, 21, 8-22, 45 and 4-49 can be the excellent selection for pulping and timbering.The experiment in wetting ability of wood of all clones indicates that the time reaching balance contact angle was different significantly in all 5 growth rings of all Poplar Clones in Populus deltoides Marsh, namely the wetting ability of wood of all clones had significant difference.The factor analysis of all properties manifested that clone 12-23 had a fine performance both in fiber length and wood density, the content of cellulose and wetting ability of wood of clone 61 and 45 were both better than others. Therefore, clone 7-52 and 8-22 were better than other clones in fiber length, wood density, the content of cellulose and wetting ability of wood.
