Taxus Chinensis var.Mairei is one variety in Taxus as a rare tree species in China. The research on artificial cultivation of Taxus is meaningful, because of the great reducing of Taxus resources. The manual cultivation had its vital significance. Through seeding propagation, cutting propagation and the cultivation trials in different hilly site, the reliable technology was provided for the large-scale cultivation and the protection of seed resource .the results showed that:1. Breaking the dormancy of seed was necessary, if seeding propagation was carried on. The annual growth had two peaks. Two winters and one summer stratification can raise seedling emergence rate. With this treatment, the germinate rate and seedling emergence rate were raise and so was the quality of plant.2. Choosing the appropriate cuttage material and reasonable processing can substantially enhance the cuttage effect. Twig cutting was better than hard branch cutting and selecting the head of the branch was better. The twig and processing with 100mg/L GGR can remarkably raise survival rate. The type of its rooting was belongs to callus rooting.3. Shaded-slope and half shaded-slope were the better choose to building Taxus on mountainous region. it was also more advantageous to select two-year-old tree and transplanted with belt earth for afforestation.4. There were advantageous for afforestating on mountainous region to fertilize, Intercrop and mix. Both fertilizing and mixing with soy beans can promotion growth, fertilizing Ca(H2PO4)2.2H2O was the best procession. Multi-mixed plantation promoted the growth and stability of Taxus. Taxus grew well and had a retention rate in mixed forest, and also had strong drought-resistance.5. Taxol, the effective medicinal ingredient, highest existed in female branch, but it was lower in five years branch .The quantity of taxol was little different between male and female branch.6. Taxus has the good economic efficiency. Till 5-6years ,The intensive farming of Taxus forest take back completely invested cost by gathers branches and leaves ,and had 12.9 thousand Yuan/Hm2 (not consider the land and interest).After gathering, the stand was able to grow normally regardless of it was used as the timber forest or the medicinal purposes forest. The medicinal purposes forest can get one Harvest every three years. It delivered branches and leaves about 18000kg.The net income amounted to 52,900 Yuan by branches and leaves. Deducting the cost of fertilizer and cultivates digs invests --10,000 Yuan, there still had 22,900 Yuan profits every three years.7. Sapling blossoms were found during building Taxus on mountainous region, and the female staminate flower's proportion is 1: 2.
