Investigation Of Bats Carried Rabies In The Western Part Of Guangxi Provinc

Rabies is a drastic anthropo zoonosis caused by rabies viruses and rabiesrelative viruses with the character of acute fatal encephalomyelitis. The mortality rate is 100% once they infect it. Rabies is spreaded all over the world, and almost all the homeothermal animals can infect rabies virus. It is infected mostly by wild animals in Europe, and infected by cattle in Asia and Africa. Homo sapien is abiogenesis host, but according to the examination lately, 99% of anthropo-rabies were causing by canine. Rabies virus can be divided into seven serotypes now, and several rabies virus have not been classified. The number of rabies infections increases these years, and it suggests the other epidemic peak coming. Since 1949, comprehencive research had not been carried in Guangxi on ecology, molecular epidemiology, and genetic diversity of rabies virus strains cireulating in different regions. It is very important to investigate the natural RABV host of rabies virus: bat. It will contribute to elucidate the distribution and phylogentie relationship of Guangxi bats source RABV and to prewaming, redueing and eliminating the threaten of rabies to human has significance sense for public health.In order to investigate the epidemiology of bats rabies in the western Guangxi, we collected 1537 bats in these two years. The original regions include Nanning, Baise, Congzuo, Qinzhou, Hechi. Detected by nested-PCR, the positive rate of the western Guangxi bats brains was 1.63%(25/1537), the Nanning sample was 3.00%(6/201), the Congzuo sample was 3.50%(14/400) and the Baise sample was 1.17%(5/428).We identified the virus and studied its bionomics by Mouse Inoculation Test (MIT), Cell-culture Isolation Teconiques (CIT), and Chick Embryo Chorioallantoic Membrane Isolation Teconiques (CECMI). From above, we didn't isolate rabies virus. The results showed that the quantity of rabies virus in the western Guangxi bats was small.
