In this research, the endophyte of Paeonia anomala was isolated for the first time by using the blendor methods, 11 strains of endophytic bacteria was screened. The antagonistic endophytic bacteria against pathogenic fungal of economic field crops by the method of agar diffusion bioassay, strain XJU-PA-6 have the ability of against the pathogenic fungal of economic field crops.According to the observation of the morphology, the study of the physiological and biochemical, 16s rDNA and G+C mo1% content, the XJU-PA-6 was identified as Serratia.marcescens.By study of fermentation technology, the optimized medium consisted of 40g/L maltose ,20g/L of peptone,1g/L of arginine, pH6.5-7.0。The best culture conditions were described as below:5% seed broth incubated into 150 ml conical flask. It was cultured at 28℃with shaking speed at 180r/min for 48h. After isolated and purified of the red pigment produced by the strain XJU-PA-6, it was identified as prodigiosin according to its biochemical characteristics and spectra of HNMR.The acute and the chronic toxicity of prodigiosin in mice was observed. In the acute toxicity test ,high dose(400 g/kg) of prodigiosin was injected to the experiment group. In the chronic toxicity test, the experiment group was given prodigiosin in dose of 140 g/kg every day for 8 weeks. When the experiment was finished, mice were killed and the growth condition measured, histomorphological examination were simultaneously performed. The abnormal sign had not been found in pathological examination. It could be concluded that prodigiosin is safe to be applied to foodstuff or clinic area.
