Panicle Enclosure (PE) is a common genetic block both in Cytoplasmic Male Sterility of Three way cross and in photo-thermo sensitive nuclear sterility of two way cross. There is about 30 percent to 60 percent of glumous flower enclosed in the flag leaf sheath. Different Cytoplasmic Male Sterilities have different panicle enclosure length. The study aimed to find out the relation between the start of PE and endogenesis hormones and Isozymes, and find out the best panicle differentiation stage that exogenous hormone GA3 depressing PE with the method of Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbnent Assay (ELISA)and isozyme PAGE electrophoresis analyses. The main results are summarized as follows:1 .The results indicated that the bands of EST in G46A both leaves and young panicle are more abundant than those in G46B and the activeness of EST are also higher in G46A, the changes begin at Pollen Mother Cell Stage, enhanced considerably at One Nuclear Stage and last to Three Nuclear Stage. There is no difference in the bands distribution of COD and POD in the leaves of G46A and G46B, but in young panicle, the bands become more abundant in G46A at One Nuclear Stage.2. A very significant difference of the content of GA can be found between male sterile line and maintenance line of these three materials whether in leaf or in young panicle in Two Cell Stage. The content of GA in male sterile line is general lower than in maintenance line. The content of endogenesis hormone GA in higher panicle enclosure material-Z621A is lower than the low panicle enclosure materials-D62A and G46A. The contents Endogenesis hormone ABA between male sterile line and maintenance line of these three materials take on a significant difference, wane in forepart of differentiation stages and surplus in last differentiation stages, and the same rule is to higher panicle enclosure material-Z621A compare to low panicle enclosure materials-D62A and G46A. The changes of IAA content of sterile line are the same to that of maintenance line in One Cell Stage. In the same stage, IAA content of Z621A is significant lower than that of D62A and G46A.3. Using exogenous gibberellin in the anaphase of development (Three Nuclear stage) can depress the length of panicle enclosure effectively. In this phase the stem length is little higher than normal. A negative correlation is found between the length of panicle enclosure and the length of the uppermost internode and the second uppermost internode of Z621A, G46A and D62A. After treating in meiosis stage, an extremely significant negative correlation is found between the length of panicle enclosure and the length of the uppermost internode and the second uppermost internode, and a significant positive correlation between the length of panicle enclosure and the length of the length of the third uppermost t internode.
