The forage to concentrate ratio has a significant impact on productivity and health of dairy cows, to explore effects of forage to concentrate ratio on oxidative stress and homeostasis of rumen, pH and Anti-oxidative indexes of rumen, anti-oxidative indexes of serum were studied. Five Holstein cows during the dry period were used with 30 d in the first 8 periods, the last period was 3 days. Forage to concentrate ratio were 30:70, 35:65, 40:60, 45:55, 50:50,55:45, 60:40, 70:30,100:0, respectively. The result indicated that:①rumen PH was the lowest in 100:0 (P<0.05).The activities of T-SOD in the rumen was the highest in 55:45 (P<0.05); The contents of MDA and OH·in the rumen was the lowest in 55:45 (P<0.05); The activities of GSH-Px in the rumen was the lowest in 55:45 (P<0.05); The activities of T-AOC in 55:45 was higher than that of 30:70,35:65,40:60,45:55,50:50,100:0 remarkably in the rumen (P<0.05).②The activities of T-SOD,T-AOC in the serum was the highest in 55:45(P<0.05); The activities of GSH-Px in the serum was the lowest in 55:45 (P<0.05); Compared with 50:50,60:40,the contents of MDA in the serum in 55:45 had no difference(P>0.05), but which was lower than other concentrate ratio (P<0.05); Compared with 60:40, the contents of OH·in 55:45 was not significant different in the serum(P>0.05), but was lower than other concentrate ratio (P<0.05).③The number of ciliates in the rumen was not significant different between 30% and 45%, the number of ciliates in the rumen was the highest in 50% (P<0.05), but the number was the lowest in 100%;④The number of anaerobic fungi in the rumen was not significant different between 30% and 45%, the number of anaerobic fungi in the rumen was the highest in 50% (P<0.05), but the number was the lowest in 100%, Compared with 50%,55%,60%,70%,the number of anaerobic fungi was significant different in 100%.The results indicated that forage to concentrate ratio significantly influenced the homeostasis of rumen, oxidative stress of body, the number of anaerobic fungi and ciliates in the rumen. The number of anaerobic fungi and ciliates increased when the forage to concentrate ratio was appropriate in the rumen, but the number of anaerobic fungi and ciliates significantly decreased when the forage to concentrate ratio was excessive in the rumen. The homeostasis of rumen was very stable, the abilities of anti-oxidative of body was highest in 55%.The number of anaerobic fungi and ciliates in the rumen which were significantly influenced by the forage to concentrate ratio between 50% and 100%, gradually went down with rising the forage to concentrate ratio. So the forage to concentrate ratio was important in the process of cattles breeding.
