By the research on the characteristic of the soil element and the relation with species multiformity in the Abies georgei var.Smithii Forest on the eastern and western slope of Sejila mountain in Tibet. Result is indicated:(1)A total of 58 tree species from 53 genera in 36 families among which 8 species were Rosaceae,5 species were Liliaceae,5 species were Eriaceae,3 species were Ranunculaceae,3 species were Compositae, 2 species were Cupressaceae,2 species were Caprifoliaceae,2 species were Umblliferae ,and other 28 tree species were only one receptively. These were recorded in the 8 plots of the western slope of the Abies georgei var forest.Smithii Forest; We recorded 73 species from 53 genera in 33 families in the 7 plots of the eastern slope,and 3 species were Ranunculaceae, 6 species were Rosaceae, 5 species were Eriaceae, 5 species were Polygonaceae,3 species were Ranunculaceae, 3 species were Cyperaceae , 2 species were Caprifoliaceae.(2)Number of genera and Margalef index correlated negatively with altitude(p<0.01),and Number of families and species correlated negatively with altitude(P<0.05)in the western slope of the Abies georgei var forest.Number of species and genera correlated negatively with altitude(p<0.01),and Number of families and Margalef index correlated negatively with altitude(P<0.05)in the eastern slope of the Abies georgei var forest;and the Margalef index of the eastern slope of the Abies georgei var forest is significantly larger than the western slope from the elevation gradient.(3) Theαdiversity Shannon-Wiener index (H ') of urgency Tsim long-shell fir forest in the western slope of Sejila Mountain is obviously bigger than that in the eastern slope along the elevation gradient. Theαdiversity Shannon-Wiener index (H ') exhibits some similarities in the trend of change along each elevation gradient between these two slopes. There is no significant difference in the equality index (E) of urgency Tsim long-shell fir forest between the two slopes of Sejila Mountain. In addition, there is little change in the equality index (E) of urgency Tsim long-shell fir forest along the elevation gradient in the two slopes of Sejila Mountain.(4) There is a positive correlation in the Jaccard index(Cj) between the neighbouring samples of urgency Tsim long-shell fir forest in the eastern and western slopes of Sejila Mountain along the elevation gradient, while the correlation hasn't reached the significant level. Besides, there is no significant difference in the Jaccard index(Cj) between the neighbouring samples along the low elevation gradient in the two slopes. The Cody index (βc) of urgency Tsim long-shell fir forest in the western and eastern slopes of Sejila Mountain falls with the rising of elevation gradient. Moreover, along the corresponding elevation gradient, the Cody index (βc) in the eastern slope is bigger than that in the western slope.(5)Maximum tree height(Hmax) and Hmax(Hmax=37m)correlated negatively with altitude(P<0.05);but basal area(BA)and BAmax(BAmax=5.3m2) correlated with altitudes, however, this trend was insignificant in the western slope of the Abies georgei var forest.(6)The soil on the both slopes is acid soil,the average pH value and the quotiety of variation about the pH value of soil on the western slope are bigger than the eastern,the average value of organic matter,Total N,Avail.N,Eff.P,Eff.K in the soil on the western slope is bigger than that on the eastern slope,and the difference of the average value of organic matter,Total N,Avail.N is bigger.(7)The average value of Avail Calcium of the both slopes is bigger than other effectual elements,and the average value of Avail Calcium of two slopes have a bigger difference,The content of Avail.Mg,Avail.Cu,Avail.Zn,Avail. Fe,Avail. Mn on the western slope are bigger than the eastern slope,and the quotiety of variation of Avail.Ca and Avail Mn of two slopes are bigger than other effectual elements.(8)The pH value of soil,organic matter and nutrient content of the both slopes have distinct or very distinct plus or minus pertinence.(9)There is a striking plus relations between the diversity index of western slope's species and the pH value of it's soil (p<0.01),and the species diversity index (H′) has a striking or very striking negative relations with organic matter,Avail Cu (p<0.05) and Avail Fe(p<0.01),Simultaneity, a distinct plus relations between the index (E) of community equality of the eastern slope and its'organic matter was founded (p<0.05). (10)The soil factors which has quite great influence on the western slope's species diversity index H′is the content of Avail.Fe; The soil factors which has quite great influence on the community equality index of the eastern slope(E) is the content of organic matter.
