Wheat stripe rust, caused by Puccinia striiformis West.f.sp.tritici, is one of the most destructive fungal diseases on wheat in the wheat-grown areas around the world. China is the biggest epidemic region of wheat stripe rust and is a relatively independent popular area department. Wheat stripe rust often causes great losses on wheat yield in China.Assistant differential hosts of wheat stripe rust screening, reaction pattern of differential hosts on the following generation of popular physiological races and genetic analysis of stripe rust resistance to cultivar zhongliang 22 were studied during 2005 to 2008. The findings were as follows:1. Assistant differential hosts of wheat stripe rust screeningMianyang 26, Jingshuang 16, Longyuan 935, Yumai 34, Jinmai 54, Jimai 30, Zhengmai 9023, Lumai 23, 92R137, Wanmai 19, Jimai 38, Beijing 837, Yumai 47, Yangmai 5, Zhongliang 22, Lantian 15, Zhongliang 969 and A3 were inoculated with different physiological races, it was result that Zhongliang 22, Lantian 15, Zhongliang 969 and A3 can be assistant differential hosts initially after identification.2. Reaction pattern of differential hosts on the following generation of popular physiological racesThere were no changes for the reaction pattern of the country unified differential hosts on CY 32 and Shui14, other Varieties were decreased on CY 32 and Shui14 in the testing. The diseade index of all tested varieties were decreased on CY 32 and Shui14 step by step.3. Genetic analysis of stripe rust resistance in cultivar zhongliang 22Adopting conventional hybrid approach, the important wheat cultivar Zhongliang 22 in the Southern Gansu of China as the female parent was hybridized with the susceptive cultivar Mingxian 169 as the male parent, to study the resistance inheritance of wheat cultivar Zhongliang 22 in seedling plants inoculated with the strains of stripe rust including CY32, Shui 14, Shui 7 and Shui 4. The results showed when testing with CY32, the ratios of resistant to susceptible of cross Zhongliang 22/Mingxian 169, F2 plants were 24:390, it fit expected values 1:15, the resistance of Zhongliang22 to the race CY32 was controlled by two recessive genes. Testing with the race Shui14 was controlled by two dominant genes and one recessive gene, to the race Shui 7 was controlled by the complementary action of two recessive genes, to the race Shui 4, was controlled by the complementary action of two dominant genes.
