The biochemical components in tea fresh leaf decide the quality of tea and the tea type for tea fresh leaf, and also determine the value in use of tea germplasm resources and economic benefit. So,to test the contents of tea biochemical components is an important means for studying tea germplasm resources.In the research, the quality components of Spring Tea and Summer Tea from sixteen number of representative Guangdong local cultivars and four number of comparison cultivars were measured, which including amino acid ,polyphenols .caffeine, flavonls, water extracts and compounds of EGCG,ECG,EGC,EC,GCG,DL-G,Ester-catechins,Total of catechins and so on.By comparing with the differences of biochemistry ingredient contents in all population cultivars, and special high quality resources were selected out. Such as S1,S4,S9,S16 were higher in Amino acid, polyphenols,caffeine, flavonls contents, which could be used as important resources for the further research, but also as breeding materials for high-quality tea caltivars. S2,S6,S8,S18 is lower in caffeine content, which could be cultivated as low caffeine high-quality varieties of resources; S18,S19 are good materials to cultivate high content of tea polyphenol; S6,S11,S12,S20 are good to cultivate high amino acid caltivars. Through the experiments five higher content of Ester- catechin in cultivars were elected out, nine germplasm resources of the proportion of the Ester-catechin / catechin higher than 80% were found. The research provided a scientific basis with the better use of development for Guangdong Tea germplasm resources.The results indicate that tea polyphenols in summer tea are higher than Spring Tea, and amino acid content in Summer Tea is significantly lower than Spring Tea. The results show that in order to bring into full play in economic benefit for tea fresh leaf, tea fresh leaf in Spring are good for green tea ,but tea fresh leaf in Summer are good for black tea. The research to laid the foundation of basic research and rational use for resource in Guangdong local group cultivars.
