The watermelon seedlings of watermelon 9, as the material, and the way of floating nursing seedling in water-bed were applied to the experiment in this research, including different sowing-depth, sowing-position, burgeon temperature, transplanting-seedling-age and transplanting weather. Floating nursing seedling in water-bed has effect on watermelon seedling's growth characteristics, biological and physiological characteristics, transplanting seedling stage, transplanting weather, delaying living days and percent of living after transplanting. The purpose is to provide scientific basis and practical skills for the factory raising, no-soil raising and efficient planting. The main results showed that:1. The best depth of sowing seeds is between 1.5cm and 2.0cm, and the suitable temperature of sprouting is between 25℃and 30℃.2. According to the needs of the nutrition of watermelon seedling and characteristics of aquatic root, the dedicated fertilizer was worked out which contains comprehensive and appreciate nutritional contents, and it is suitable for watermelon seedling's growth.3. The quality of watermelon seedlings raised by floating nursing in water-bed reaches or superior to those raised by conventional soil nursing.4. The experiment on different seedling stage while transplanting at the same time showed that the delaying living days was shortest when the seedlings were in tow leaves stage or three leaves stage, the ratio of living watermelon seedling transplant was the highest and is up to 95%. And the growth characteristics and biological and physiological characteristics were better than those raised byconventional soil nursing.
