Acer truncatum Bunge was a species of Acer genus,which was good for health of human being. In addition, it is a species of beautiful trees for countryard, because of its broad application, Acer truncatum Bunge was extensively introduced and researched. But after it was introduced to Kunming, the biomass of Acer truncatum Bunge was low. In order to select the full habituated trees in Kunming, and selected superior clones in"Baofeng center", so study and the conclusion show that:(1) The research of plus trees'branches in Baofeng center show that: in the process of branches growth of most trees, the peak period of growth was the April to June, after June, branches almost stop growing in length, only a few of branches continue growing until September. The diameter of branches growing continued until the end of September, but Growth Volume was small. Leaves number increased most in May to July, and a small part of leaves fall off in August, the September is the month of most leaves fall off, so it was rarely to see the Acer truncatum Bunge full of red or yellow leaves in Kunming. But still a few trees are different from others.(2) The difference in survival rate Among Clones is remarkably, No.92 is of the highest survival rate, No.88 is the clone with lowest survival rate.The grafting time and the quality of Bud were very import factors for the grafting survival rate;Grafted clones height growing peak month is May to June, after June continued to grow, but much more slowly. Diameter of branches growing peak month is May to July, and some clones continue growing in the August to September. The node number, height and diameter among clones is different. There are two growth in one year, the first is May, the second is July, some clones also have growth peak in September.;Colors variation among clones was very rich. leaf colors of Acer truncatum Bunge was closely relation between young and adult, so certain cultivars could be identified according to its colors of tender leaves.(3) The node numbers, height and diameter among clones were different. Difference of height, diameter,and node number among clones was remarkably, also between groups. Repeatability of height, diameter and node number were estimated, the maximum was height repeatability, R = 0.939, the following was node number, repeatability growth which is more than 0.7. Show that the characters were great controlled by its genetic, when to choose superior clones, height and the node number were most important character. The No.19 and No.146 were chose to be the superior clones adapt to Yunnan province. Genetic Gain of height was 18.65%, and of diameter and node number were 7.62% and 5.24%. At the same time, NO.38, NO.100, NO.87 were chosed ,which genetic gain of heigt was 9.97%,and of node number and dismeter were 7.23% and 5.42%.(5) Leaves and samaras of Acer truncatum Bunge were analyzed. there were rich variation of the characters of leaves.The correlation among leaves'length and width with other leaf character was strong ,so it can be forecast other characters with the trait of length and width of leaves. The thickness of fruits and seeds were important characters, the thicker the fruit is, the heavier it will. There were closely relationship between thousand-seed weight and other characters, so other characters can be deduce according to the thousand-seed weight. It can also conclude that the correlation between leaves width and fruit characters were significantly, and the thousand-seed weight were also closely related to the all the leaves character. The correlation coefficient among leave width with thousand-seed weight was 0.638, so the superior trees can be selected according to the width of leaves.
