Eucalyptus is a general species on Eucalyptus of Myrtaceae, which is one of the three fast-growing tree species in the world, with short-rotation, high-yield and wide use. The Eucalyptus urophylla, Eucalyptus grandis, urophylla and other varieties were introduced successively from Guangxi Province to the southern Fujian Province in 1990. At present, eucalyptus plantation resources inventory, the trees measuring table and the management table in planning and designing is few and its management is operated by experience. Therefore, the establishment of volume table and wood table of eucalyptus plantation will be benefit for the optimal decision-making and the best yield in management of eucalyptus plantations.In order to develop urophylla plantation volume table, taper equation and wood table, 57 standards plots with different age, site and density were collected in the Yongan City according to the typical sample method. And 322 tree samples were collected by random (of which 262 for model, 60 for testing), which has a corresponding wood sample in each D.B.H and Height bands. The tree length and diameter at breast height were measured after the samples were felled. According to the quadrature practice in the central section, the diameter with bark and no-bark in the central sub-district were measured. Finally, the tree sample's volume with bark and no-bark were calculated by the central section.The result showed that the volume table, including one-way volume table, standard volume table and diameter volume table by different methods and models were developed. The volume table satisfies the precision in forest management by test. These tables were reliable for investigation of forest resources.The original volume table issued by the Forestry Department and Fujian Province are both compiled by the use of Shanben V=aDbHc. The equation reflects the number relationship between the diameter at breast height, height and volume. It can be used for Eucalyptus plantations management by test.In the evaluation of the binary volume model, the relevant index, the remainder of the standard deviation, an average system error, the mean relative absolute error and forecast accuracy were used as the evaluation index. The comprehensive evaluation indexes were established by the gray correlation analysis to avoid the subjective effect of man-made factors. The gray correlation analysis has no special requirements for the sample number and was easier to be applied. Moreover, since the gray correlation analysis is based on trend analysis for the principle, it will not be inconsistent with the results of qualitative analysis. From the study of tree trunks described in Forest mensuration, the classic curve-derived were chosen to deduct the taper equation of variable parameters, which is reliable in theoretical basis. Compared with a few taper equations used commonly, these taper equations of variable parameters have high precision to meet the requirements in forest management.In order to expand the volume table method, it was put forward that the tree volume table was compiled by the taper equation. It showed since these taper equations consider adequately the trunk form, the volume table compiled by taper equation has more high precision than Shanben-style. It's feasible in the forest management.
