Cotton is the largest of China's farm produce cash crops and textile industry's main raw materials.China's cotton cultivation was known for precision farming in the world, Fine intensive pruning is an important technical content.Among many techniques of cultivation, cotton topping reduces the consumption of cotton nutrients,So that more nutrients transported to the fruit branch, increasing boll weight, reducing falling off the bud and boll, and voiding bud, increasing the rate of early boll, reducing the bad boll, promoting early maturation. In the management of cotton production is an increase of important agronomic measures. In general agricultural production, using the artificial topping methods. However, large areas of cotton production, artificial topping is time-consuming,chemical topping can be taken to save time, increase labor efficiency,With better economic benefits and good market prospects. The entire process of cotton growth and development is subject to the regulation of plant hormones,And the effect on the aging cotton leaves, the growth, development and falling of the bud and boll, the growth and development of the ovule and the fiber of plant hormones. But the application of cotton topping has not studied, therefore, the application of plant hormones and chemicals to control the apical dominance of cotton, which is the cultivation of quality control to provide the theoretical basis for the chemical and technical means of a pressing priority.Wanmian 19F1 was used to study the effects of methyl octanoate, methyl decanoate and 6-BA on topping in cotton. The results showed that the three chemical compounds at suitable concentrations are able to replace artificial topping. All the three chemicals significantly reduced plant height in a dose dependent manner, and increased the number of fruit branches at higher and the highest concentrations.Except the lowest concentrations, the three chemicals enhanced the number of total bolls. And the higher concentrations increased bolls per plant, boll weight and tint percentage. As a result they increased the yield of seed cotton and lint, but had no effect on the number of pre-summer bolls.Methyl octanoate at 35mmol·L-1 showed the best effect which was similar to artificial topping control. The three chemicals had little influence on fiber upper length and uniformity, but most of them increased micronaire. At higher concentrations they reduced fiber strength and elongation rate and decreased fiber quality. In consideration of cotton yield and fiber quality, the appropriate concentrations for application of methyl octanoate, methyl decanoate and 6-BA are 35 mmol·L-1,35 mmol·L-1 and 0.4mmol·L-1,respectively.
