In this study, it was based on the data of 30 sample plots and 176 strains of analysis wood, which were surveyed in 2007 on Maoershan natural secondary forest area. To pobulus davidiana (Pobulus davidiana Dode), mixed-wood, oak, secondary forest and valley hard broad-leaved forest as the research object, analyzing the major forest types of species composition, diameter and structure of the basic structure of the stand; using the spatial structure of the three parameters, to the smallest structural unit based on, analyzing specifically the level of secondary structure from the mixed degre, diameter, tree height and crown size and angle scale; using the Hegyi single wood competition index to analyze quantitatively the major forest types within the species, interspecific competition intensity on Mao'er Mountain. The results show that:(1) Using the negative exponential equation to frame the relationship between the forest drive-order plants and the diameter, finding that the distribution of various forest types in diameter, diameter class distribution of plants was the anti-J-curve,multi-shaped peak curve and single-shaped peak curve, a negative index equation have better effected in the path-order of the diameter distribution. (2) The distribution pattern of the stand, showed a uniform distribution, random distribution, as well as aggregated distribution, but 65% are evenly randomly distributed. This shows that there are more trees in an advantageous position, stand clear differentiation and the development of stand space is still very great. The diameter between chest height ratio and tree height ratio has a strong advantage of consistency, which has reflected the various trees, the reference tree and the adjacent tree on the growth advantage. It comes to the conclusion that there are uneven aged, mixed, complex layers of the structural characteristics for a typical secondary forest. (3) The competition intensity of the various forest types decreased gradually with the increasing tree diameter class, and reached the order of a variety of intra-and interspecific competition. In this study, it takes reasonable measures to operate the natural secondary forest guide the operation of the various forest types and provide a theoretical basis for practical activities. It has a certain degree of theoretical and practical significance to adjust the level distribution pattern of natural secondary forest and improve the competitiveness relationship requirement between trees.
