Danyu inbred lines of Lu Series are the dominating inbred lines in Luda Red Cob Group.The representative Danyu inbred lines of Lu Series,such as Lu28,Lu9,Lu9 Kuan,E28,Dan 340 etc.,have the characters of high combining ability,high resistance to adversity,wide adaptability,all-around agricultural properties excellence and have been used in many corn breeding units in China.Since the 70th of this century,there have been 59 hybrid maize varieties combined with Danyu inbred lines of Lu Series planted for 6667 hectares each,planted for more than 34 million hectares altogether and planted for the largest area of more than 5.296 million hectares per year.Danyu inbred lines of Series,which hare been the important germplasm resources of corn,have established the remarkable situation of Luda Red Cob Group in the corn breeding and have played significant roles in hybrid maize production in ChinaThis paper studies on the genetic characteristics of 10 Corn Luda Red Cob Group,which can broaden genetic basis of Luda Red Cob Group,structure new heterotic patterns,resolve the back and force situation of Chinese maize breeding and overcome the technique guarantee for the sustainable development of Chines maize production.The materials include J8853,JL1,J390,F349,J344,Dan340,Dan8415,TieD9125,Tie9010,Dan598.Two augmented NCⅡdesigns were adopted in this experiment.Studies on the heterotic performances and genetic characteristics of the iomportant characters in Corn Luda Red Cob Group,such as plant height,Ears height,kernel length,100-grian weight,etc.The result of this study is as follows:1,The results of two incomplete diallel cross experiment showed that the grain weight per plant namely ear kernel weight was the highest in heterotic of all characters.The hetersis of two experiment was 130.9%,95.9% respectively,and the cofficient of variability was 36.7%,40.2%,there are a little difference in two groups.The high heterosis of grain weight per plant in two groups is crosses J8853×C8605-2,243.2%; Dan8415×C8605-2,242.5%;Dan340×C8605-2,212.9%;Dan8415×J1782,201.8%;JL1×C8605-2,182.3%;Dan8415×Qi318,172.9%;JL1×Mo17,168.3%;Tie9010×Zheng58,49.4%;Tie9010×P178,47.9%;J344×C8605-2,42.7%,and the cofficient of variability was 36.7%,40.2%.Heterosis of plant height is 39.9%,31.1%in two groups,cofficient of variability is different from 16.5%to 58.7%in two groups.Ear height is over plangt height in heterosis in two groups,is 59.2%,30.6%,but the cofficient of variability are 29.7%,86.4%.Heterotic of 100-grain weight are 50.0%,29.3%,is middle,and the cofficient of variability are12.6%,30.3%and havea big difference in two groups.2,In aspect of combining ability,J390,Dan8415,Dan340 had higher general combining ability in yield character,other lines had lower GCA.Most lines had high GCA in Ears length and Ear row number.In 100-grian weight,Grain umbers per row and Ears length,showed high GCA.3,In aspect of heritability,the results of two incomplete diallel cross experiment showed that the narrow heritability of ear row number were over 70%,and the narrow heritability of Plant heigh,Ears heigh,Ears width,100-grain weight were over 50%,which indicated that it was feasible on selection in the earlier generations.The narrow heritabilities of ears length and kenerl length had showned differently,which indicated that it can not be selected in earlier generations.The narrow heritability of seeding ratio were lower,so we shoule select them in late generationg.4,Results of tested genetic model:The results of two augmented NCⅡdesign showed:The ear length was conrolled by additive effect,which the additive was negative.Dominance effect also existed in the heredity of ear length,many of them was positive.Additive effect was predominant in the heredity of ear width.We deemed that the additive-dominance genetic model weren't in line with kernel length.The kernel number per row was affected mainly by additive effect.
