Making use of the computer visualization technique to recover and reconstruct forest, and gaining forest spatial structure information are the technique and method that forest managers expect when they make decisions in the forest management. Therefore, forest managers can not only visualize the forest that they managed, but also understand the forest spatial structure information. Both are essential for forest management and decision-making. However, since a long time, the forest visualization and forest spatial structure analysis are always difficult problems to study, as the complexity and different patterns of forest structure. The development of"digital forestry"and"accurate forestry", as well as the information technology's unceasing progress, have provided possibility for people to realize the forest visualization and the spatial structure analysis with the computer processing a huge amount of forest spatial data. The need of these field studies also present a increasing trend, and its purpose is drawing support from the computer technique to recover and reconstruct forest, analyse forest spatial structure, providing the technical support and the theory basis for regulating and controlling forest spatial structure and the function. However, forest visualization and it's spatial structure study are relatively independence at present: On the one hand, forest visualization study is particularly emphasized on how vividly to realize the 3-D forest, but very few introductions of the coordinate-based spatial structure indexs are carried out in forest spatial structural analysis, so the significance that only the forest can be seen, but its spatial structure can not be understood, is not significant for forest management. One the other hand, spatial structure study is particularly emphasized on describing forest spatial structure situation or comparing between the different indexs, but insufficiently provides intuitionistic information for forest managers. In order to overcome above existing problems, this study puts forward a set of techniques to combine the forest visualization and spatial structure analysis based on GIS. This study takes a typical evergreen broad-leaved forest in Tianmu Mountain National Nature Reserve, Zhejiang Province as an example. Firstly, the three-dimensional tree model was created on texture mapping. Then, the Voronoi diagram was introduced on the study of forest spatial structure to improve the traditional forest spatial structure index's calculation. Finally, we developped the forest visualization and spatial structure analysis system with the ArcGIS Engine components and C# language, and realized the forest visualization and its spatial structure analysis on the computer. This research technique and the method may not only supply visual and accurate information for the forest management and decision-making, but also provide the technical support and the theory basis for evergreen broad-leaved forest's protection, recovery and reconstrunction, have important meaning to realize the forest sustainable management.
