| This study was conducted to imvestigate the effects of dietary putrescine addition on nutritional physiological of weanling pigs and their subsequent growth performance. Thirty-three PIC hogs, weighing an average of 7.49 kg,were randomly assigned to control group(without putrescine supplementation) or treatment group(with putrescine supplementation at 0.15%).There were 4 replicates for each group and 4 pigs for each replicate except 1 replicate with 5 pigs. The different diets were supplied to the pigs for 14 days. The same weaned diet was supplied to the pigs from the 15th day to 20kg.Then they were supplied the same growing and finishing diets from 20kg~60kg and 60kg~100kg.The results showed that 1) Dietary supplementation of putrescine significantly increased the digestibility of ash and Ca by 30.37%and 71.30%,respectively(P<0.05);2) Putrescine supplementation significantly decreased the excretion of Ca and Cu by 34.84%(P<0.01) and 29.41%(P<0.01),significantly decreased the excretion of Mn by 25.00%(P<0.05);3) Dietary supplementation of putrescine significantly decreased the weight of the pancreas by 7.25%(P<0.05), significantly increased the weight of kidney and liver by 2.11%(P<0.05) and 8.39%(P<0.05);4) Putrescine supplementation significantly increased lactobacillus counts in colonic digesta by 26.60%(P<0.01),significantly decreased E.coli numbers in colonic digesta by 92.61%(P<0.01) and reduce diarrhea index by 36.95% (P<0.05),but did not affect pH in colonic digesta(P>0.05);5) Putrescine supplementation tended to increase the content of RNA in intestinal mucosa(P>0.05), and increased the activity of ornithine decarboxylase of the small intestine wall at the site of 50%length(P<0.05);6) Dietary supplementation of putrescine tended to increase weaned pigs' ADG by 4.92%(P>0.05).The results indicate that putrescine supplementation can increase the number of lactobacillus in the colonic digesta, decrease diarrhea index, enhance the digestibility of ash and Ca,increase the activity of ornithine decarboxylase of the small intestine wall at the middle site, and tend to increase the growth of weaned pigs. |
