Studies On Drought Resistance Adaptatoion Of Nine Graminaceous Herbages In Typical Grassland

The nine forage species were studied on drought resistance in Zhenglanqi Banner, Xinlinguole league, Inner Mongolia from 2006 to 2007. The growth and development, morphological characteristics, physiological and productive characters were measured and compared. The results showed:1. The nine materials of Gramineae including Agropyron desertorum(Fisch.)Schult cv.Nordan,Bromus ciliatus L. cv. Xilinguole,A.cristatum×A.desertorum Mengnon,A. cristatum (L.) Gaertn,Elymus sibiricus L. cv. Nongmu,A. mongolicum Keng. cv. Mengnong No.1,Psathrostachis juncea,Elymus canadensis and Bromus inermis Leyss can grow normally and be over the winter in Zhenglanqi Banner.A mongolicum Keng cv. Mengnong No. 1 is the best in drought resistance, second, Agropyron desertorum(Fisch.)Schult cv.Nordan by ordering and marking the drought resistance. The comprehensive sequencing: A mongolicum Keng cv. Mengnong No. 1>Agropyron desertorum(Fisch.)Schult cv.Nordan > Elymus canadensis > A. cristatum (L.) Gaertn >A.cristatum×A.desertorum Mengnon>Bromus inermis Leyss>Bromus ciliatus L. cv. Xilinguole>Elymus sibiricus L. cv. Nongmu and Psathrostachis juncea.2. A mongolicum Keng cv. Mengnong No. 1,Agropyron desertorum(Fisch.)Schult cv.Nordan, Elymus Canadensis and A.cristatum×A.desertorum Mengnon were the best on drought resistance, especially strong regrowth was more than 0.57cm/d,the forage yield was over 1800kg/hm2 except Elymus Canadensis.Elymus Canadensis was the best on drought resistance in seedling, more than 400 strain /m,The nine forage species are fit to perennial manmade grassland.3. Bromus ciliatus L. cv. Xilinguole had the best productive,but the poorest regrowth, the regrowth is 0.Although Elymus sibiricus L. cv. Nongmu had good seedlings,the drought resistance was poor;Psathrostachis juncea has excellent development root systems,which can reach 98cm,strong drought resistance,short growth period,but it had low forage yield.They were not fit to perennial manmade grassland.4. A. cristatum (L.) Gaertn and Bromus inermis Leyss had the best on drought resistance,good growth, especially the potential in seedling. The seed yield was over 477kg/hm2,the potential seed yield of Bromus inermis Leyss was over 8000kg/hm2.So artificial domestication and cultivation can be further studied in the future.
