The paper studied on physiological response of 12 grasses material to low temperature stress and cold resistance evaluation by a method of combining field with laboratory experiment. For the field experiment, 12 grasses material changed on physiological indexes in seasonal cold stress. The other part was laboratory simulation experiment, 12 grasses material were treated with different temperature (0℃, -5℃and -10℃) and duration (12h, 24h and 36h) to study effects of low temperature stress on physiological indexes.1 Cold resistance of physiological characteristics of 12 grasses material the results indicated that, with the decreasing of temperature, chlorophyll content of 12 grasses material basically declined, but membrane permeability, MDA content ,POD activity, soluble sugar content and proline content basically was ascendant trend.2 The results of fields and laboratory experiment were almost the same, so laboratory simulation experiment evaluation could instead of the field experiment of the cold resistance. The laboratory simulation experiment of sensitivity was higher than the field experiment.3 According to comprehensive evaluation on cold resistance of 12 grasses material in the field experiment and laboratory experiment. The strongest cold resistance had Elytrigia repens, Elytrigia trichophora and Elytrigia intermedia. Stronger cold resistance had Thimopyrum ponticum CV. Alkar, Thimopyrum intermedium CV. Clarke and Thimopyrum ponticum CV.Jose, which comed from American. Poor cold resistance had Agropyron mongolicum, Leymus chinensis, Psathyrostachys. Juncea,Bromus inermis of china. The poorest cold resistance had Leymus recemosus and Elymus sibiricus.
