Rhododendrons are widespread on the globe with significant ecological value,and China has the most abundant Rhododendron resources in the world.Some researchers found that all the plants of family Ericaceae could form a kind of special mycorrhiza which was called ericoid mycorrhiza.Ericoid mycorrhiza could help the plants of family Ericaceae absorbing the nutrition and reinforcing the resistance to heavy metal icons in the hash environment,however, the reporting and utilizing of ericoid mycorrhiza are almost blank in China.In resent years,as people pay more and more attention to the biology and ecology effects of ericoid mycorrhiza and it's becoming more and more important to research the diversity of mycorrhiza of Rhododendron.There were great significant meaning to protecting the valuable plant species, utilizing the special mycorrhizal resources of Rhododendron and promoting the changing culture areas.The materials of this paper were came from Longchi Chinese Rhododendron garden, Sichuan province.The DNA from the fungus associated with the hair root of Rhododendron were extracted directly and the ITS sequences were amplified by nest PCR methods.We found out different types of mycorrhiza by the way of enzyme-cutting.After the plasmids were sequenced,the information of what kind of these fungus belong to would be known since the sequences were blasted these on the Genbank data from NCBI.And the diversity of mycorrhiza could be discovered by then.The results of this paper are as following:ITS sequences were showed that there were a total of 86 distinct ITS-taxa that arose from clones of hair roots of Rhododendron decorum, Rhododendron oreodoxa,Rhododendron longesquamatum,Rhododendron glischrum, Rhododendron argyophyllum and Rhododendro ambiguum.The mycorrhiza are belong to the following 10 orders:Helotiales,Sebacinales,Agaricales,Umbilicaniales,Lecanorales, Chaetothyriales,Pezizales,Verrucariales,Sphaeropsidales,Sordariales.The results showed that there was a high-level diversity of mycorrhiza of Rhododendron, including classic ericoid mycorrhiza,ectomycorrhiza,saprogen and other kinds of fungus. There is a high ratio of the Order of Helotiales and Sebacinales.We also could infer that some common fungus Orders were existed in the roots systems of 6 kinds of Rhododendra such as Helotiales and Sebacinales.And the host-specificity of mycorrhiza was also showed some in the results.
