In this paper, the biological characters of diamondback moth in Zhangjiakou Bashang region, Plutella xylostella L, were studied, such as the main host plants, annual generations'numbers, insect sources and hibernation. The field control effects of sex pheromone, and the insecticides resistance levels to the Avermectins and Emamectin benzoate in the room were measured. The field control effects of some kinds of the insecticides and the integrated pest management of the diamondback moth in the export-type cabbage were discussed. The results indicated that:(1) The diamondback moth occurred four generations per year in the Zhangjiakou Bashang region, but didn't pass the winter. The occurrence time of the adult in the field was from April 26 to the middle of October. The first generation egg was discovered on May 23, the pupal was discovered on June 6 and the adult was on June 13. The overlapping generation was occurred from the second generation. The injury stage was mainly from the early June to the late July. The peak of the first generation larval was in the early June, the second generation was from the late June to the early July, the third generation was in the early August, the fourth generation was from the end of August to the early September, but the sharp decline of the pulation was in the early August.(2) The mating disruption had some control effects on the diamondback moth, the egg number was reduced 31.25%, the larval number was reduced 33.41%, and the decresae rate of insect was 33.09%. The sex pheromone also had certain control effect on the diamondback moth, the egg numbers was reduced 25%, the larval numbers was 52.84%, and the decresae rate of insect was 48.40%. The biological control used of the sex pheromone mainly deduced the chemical control cost and labor cost, and was used as the integrated management of the diamondback moth.(3) The insecticides resistance levels of the diamondback moth to the Avermectins and Emamectin benzoate were low in the Zhangjiakou Bashang region.(4) The chemicals which controlled the first to the second generation diamondback moth in cabbage seedling were acephate, cyfluthrin and so on, the chemicals which controlled the 2-3 generation diamondback moth in the cabbage heading stage were GV suspension concentrate, such as chlorfenapyr, fipronil, emamectin-benzoate, avermectins and so on. The safe spraying period in the field was forty days before cabbage harvest .(5)The integrated pest management of the diamondback moth in the export type cabbage were established, which included the following aspects: a) mainly based on the protection of the natural enemies in the native and the usage of the sex pheromone; b) attracted and killed the male adults by the Frenquoscillation Pest Killing Lamps when the diamondback moth abounded; c) controlled the first and second generation diamondback moth by using some abroad insecticides and the second and third generation diamondback moth by using the specific biological insecticides in the seedling stage and rosette stage of the cabbage and stopped using any chemical insecticides from the folding middle stage to forty days before the cabbage harvest.
