Studies On The Sex Pheromone And Attractants From Host Plant Of Acantholyda Posticalis And Chinolyda Flagellicornis

Acantholyda posticalis and Chinolyda flagellicornis are two important forest pests.Due to the great economic losses they made every year,it is urgent and significant to monitor and depress them by means of attractants.The morphologies of antennae of A.posticalis and C.flagellicornis were observed with a scanning electron microscope.The results showed that:Regardless of the sex of A.posticalis,there was no difference in the morphology of antennae and the types of sensilla between Hebei and Henan.Although there was no difference in the types of sensilla between males and females of A.posticalis,their morphology and distribution of sensilla were different.There was visible difference in the types and distribution of sensilla between males and females of C.flagellicorni.The morphology of antennae,the types and distribution of sensilla between A.posticalis and C.flagellicornis was remarkably different.The results of experiments in Hebei and Henan indicated that:(1)Virgin females of A.posticalis released sex pheromone,which was highly attractive to males.The virgin/mated pairs also had attraction to males.(2)Males responded to virgin females from 8:00 to 19:00 in a day,with two response peaks at 10:00-12:00(Hebei)(major)/ 11:00-13:00(Henan)(major)and 14:00-16:00(minor).(3)2-day-old females captured most males,which accounted for more than 20%of the total number.(4)When it comes to extracting sex pheromone from females,lixiviation is superior to adsorption-elution.Hexane is better solvent than dichloromethane..(5)15 compounds were identified from the volatile of the needles of Pinus tabulaeformis by solvent elution and GC/MS analysis,which were mostly monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes.(6)â… ,â…¡,â…¢,â…£,â…¤,â…¥,â…¦,and a mixture of these 7 monoterpenes were tested for their attraction to A.posticalis.The mixture was most attractive to males.As for females,the mixture and the 7 chemicals were all attractive to them in Hebei,but in Henan,only the mixture andâ…£were attractive to them.The mixture of 7 monoterpenes had the best attraction to A.posticalis than other mixtures, which consist of less than 7 chemicals.The results of experiments in Chongqing indicated that:Virgin females C.flagellicornis released sex pheromone,which was highly attractive to males.The virgin pairs of female and male also had attraction to males,which were 14.35%of that of virgin females.An attractant composed ofâ…§,â…¨,â…©and the mixture of 7 monoterpenes was attractive to C.flagellicornis.
