This paper is to find out the relation of diameter at breast height(DBH),tree height(TH) and factor quotient to form factor,then we can calculate single standing-tree's volume in a easier way. Using the methods of Variance Analysis and accuracy comparison,175 analytic trees Spruce data were used,which belongs to Jingouling Forest Farm in Wangqing county,Jilin province.Based on previous research achievement,the paper details the main contents and conclusions, which are as follow:(1) Form factor is not only an important indicator to reflect the full extent of stem form,but also is the important factor to calculate the volume of standing-tree and stand factor.In this paper,by analyzing the relationship between the DBH,TH and the 5 form factors(f1.3,f0.5,f0.1,fh,f3),and using the methods of Variance Analysis and regression analysis in the view of stability and relativity, we found some conclusions:f0.1 is the most stable one with the growth of the DBH and TH,and f1.3 has the most relativity with DBH and TH.Finally,We simulated and got the volume equations and used these equations to predict the wood volume.According to the precision comparison between predictive value and the real value,we selected out the best method to calculate volume.(2) In addition,The relationship between factor quotient and form factor was studied from the aspect of the factor quotient.Because factor quotient such as q2,q1.3,etc.is an indicator of stem form easily measured stem form indicator,and form factor is the stem form indicator directly involved in measuring volume of standing tree.we use the measured factor quotient to reckon the numerical value of form factor,and then use formula V=fxgxH to obtained the volume of standing tree.So we drawed the figure using factor quotient as horizontal axis,and factor quotient as longitudinal axis,then imitated the equation and got the optimum equation.Then painting the fig -related plans and obtain the best fitting equation.f1.3=0.9573q2-0.1704(3) In this paper,the evaluation of Gini coefficient on the full extent of stem form was studied and explored formerly.In view of the Gini coefficient is an economic amount indicator of measuring uniformity of wealth distribution,while that wether stem form is full also reflects the uniformity of volume proportion distribution at every relative section of standing-tree stem.Therefore,we can take an attempt to apply the Gini coefficient to assess stem form.The result for the Gini coefficient of spruce was that the max.is 0.723877,the minimum is 0.286209,the average is 0.405798,and Gini coefficient and form factor was a negative relation.
