Characteristics Study And SRAP Analysis Of Newhall Navel Orange Mutants

In this paper,main biological characteristics of Newhall navel orange mutants has been observed and SRAP molecular markers has been used for genetic analysis.This study analysed the phenological period, fruit quality,fruit growth and development,and genetic diversity of 9 strains of Newhall navel orange.The main results of the study are as follows:1.Fruit shape of navel oranges was unstable and inconsistent,shew elliptic to round;while fruit shape of mutants came quite different,and the fruit shape of mutants between parent and filial generation had better stability and coherence.2.Fruit indexes including content of Vc,ratio of total sugar and acid et al.of 6 mutants shew superior to ordinary navel oranges,and the fruit character of mutants between parent and filial generation had very good stability and coherence.3.There were three fastigiums during the growing progress of both mutant strain and the ordinary navel orange.Lengthwise path of of both mutant strain and the ordinary navel orange were always greater than horizontal path,while fruit shape index kept above 1.0.But there were differences in fastigium coherence of lengthwise path and horizontal path, margin of of lengthwise path and horizontal path,fruit shape index,and margin of net incresse of lengthwise path and horizontal path et.al of the two strains.4.SRAP was applied to study the genetic analysis of Newhall navel orange and mutants.Differences between Changhong and parent and F₁ of Xiangke No.1 were not large,being 0.0714 and 0.1716.Differences among parent and F₁ of Tuoyuanxing mutant,Changhong,Xiangke No.1,and Yuanxing mutant were avariable,thereinto genetic distace between parent of Tuoyuanxing mutant and Yuanxing mutant was 0.2517. Difference between mutants and Newhall navel orange was diverse, genetic distace was 0.1057 to 0.1971.Genetic distace between parent and F₁ of Xiangke No.1 was 0.0517,while Tuoyuanxing mutant was 0.0429, differces all were small.
