The Development Potential Assessment Of Forest Resources In Gansu Province

Forest resources are the survival of mankind as a renewable resource since ancient times, the scarce resources will provide humanity with an unlimited wealth of material and spiritual if use reasonably. Cross-latitude and longitude of the latitude and longitude span is large in Gansu Province, and terrain is complex, climate is diverse, and with multi- species soil, and provide an excellent natural condition for the formation and development of variety trees.So rich in forest types. However, due to the lack of long-term potential research of forest resources development, lead to lack of adequate understanding of the development and utilization of Gansu forest resources, becouse existing large blindness of resources development, greatly limited the development and utilization of forest resources of Gansu Province. In the view of this, this article divided the forest resources of Gansu Province into three types of development irections which is bio-diesel, firewood and ornamental types, on this basis, investigated the important forest resources in various development directions. Bio-diesel categories: establish evaluation index system on the oil rate,yield rate,application period and fruit production period types of firewood: establish evaluation index system on the yield, germination and heat value. Watch categories: establish evaluation index system on the flower, leaf, fruit and tree pattern. Using the level of analysis and expert advice combined to calculate the integrated value U of potential development and according to the vaule U to divide development levels.Ultimately selected biomass diesel and firewood species which are suit for developping in Gansu and promote to cultivate in various regions in Gansu Province.Meanwhile selected priority species of fancy tress to be introduced a wide range of species distribution and rich green tress.1. Woody oil plants in Gansu Province, the oil rate of over 30% of biomass to diesel refining plant 48 species belonging to 26 families 33 genera. Mainy concentrated in the Rosaceae, Lauraceae, Anacardiaceae and Rutaceae. The development potential of the integrated value of 1.000≥U≥0.400, as a priority development and utilization of species, as representative of Xanthoceras sorbifolia ,Pistacia chinensis, Cornus alteri, Pistacia vera, etc. a total of 17 species, 0.400> U≥0.250, as the species for secondary development and utilization, as representative of Rhus chinensis, Lindera obtusiloba, Armeniaca sibirica, Pinus armandii etc, a total of 18 species; 0.250> U≥0.000, as the species for general development and utilization, as representative of Fagus longipetiolata, Magnolia denudate, Pinus tabulaeformis Firmiana simplex, etc. a total of 13 species.2. According to different hydrothermal conditions in Gansu province, six regions will be divided as priority to the development and utilization of species planting.ⅠVernicia fordii, Pistacia chinensis, Sapium sebiferum, Camellia oleifera.ⅡPinus armandii, Corylus heterophylla, Xanthoceras, sorbifolia.ⅢPinus armandii, Cornus walteri, Xanthoceras sorbifolia.ⅣAcer truncatum, Pinus armandii, Xanthoceras sorbifolia.ⅤPinus armandii, Xanthoceras sorbifolia.ⅥPistacia vera, Juglans cathayensis.3. There are 31 mian firewood species in Gansu Province, mainly in Leguminosae, Fagaceae, Pinaceae and so on. The development potential of the integrated value of 1.000≥U≥0.500, as a priority the development of species, as the representative of Salix matsudana, Amorpha frutisa, Coriaria sinica, a total of 14, 0.500> U≥0.000, as the species for general development and utilization, as representative of Rhus typhina, Tamarix chinensis, Melia azedarach ,Tamarix taklamadanensis ,a total of 17 species.4. According to different hydrothermal conditions in Gansu province ,and lack of heat distribution of firewood in rural areas, five regions will be divided as priority to the development and utilization of species plantingⅠHippophae rhamnoides, Hedysarum scoparium, Amorpha frutisa.ⅡArmeniaca sibirica, Robinia pseudoacacia, Salix matsudana, Amorpha frutisa.ⅢAlnus cremastogyne, Quercus wutaishanica, Quercus variabilis.ⅣHippophae rhamnoides, Robinia pseudoacacia, Populus simonii, Salix matsudana.ⅤRobinia pseudoacacia,Populus simonii, Salix matsudana ,Coriaria sinica, Morus alba, Alnus cremastogyne, Quercus wutaishanica.5. There are 94 mian ornamental trees species in Gansu Province, mainly concentrated in the Leguminosae, Rosaceae and Salicaceae. The development potential of the integrated value of 1.000≥U≥0.600, as a priority the development and utilization of tree species, Syringa reticulata var. mandshurica, Paulownia tomentosa, etc. A total of 17 species; the development potential of the integrated value of 0.600> U≥0.400, for the development and utilization of sub-species, as representative of Rosa davidii, Amelanchier sinica, Amygdalus communis etc, a total of 28 species; the development potential of the integrated value of 0.000≤U <0.400, representative of Philadelphus incanus, Potentilla davurica, Potentilla fruticosa etc, a total of 49 species.6.
