Physiological flower bud differentiation mechanism of Buxus sinica var. parvifolia was studied in this paper.The results showed as follows:1. The flower bud physiological differentiation of Buxus sinica var. parvifolia was from the middle of July to the beginning of October.2. After spray of different plant growth regulators during the flower bud physiological differentiation of Buxus sinica var. parvifolia, the higher concentration, the lower percentage of flower bud differentiation.3. The contents of soluble sugar and total sugar decreased at the beginning of flower bud physiological differentiation, and then increased. The contents of reducing sugar increased gradually. Starch contents showed a trend of fall-rise-fall. The higher concentration of plant growth regulators, the less contents of soluble sugar, reducing sugar and starch. The contents of soluble protein increased at the start of flower bud physiological differentiation, and then decreased. The contents of soluble protein of the control groups were higher than the treated groups. MDA contents showed a trend of fall-rise.4. During the flower bud physiological differentiation of Buxus sinica var. parvifolia, GAs content showed a trend of fall-rise-fall. IAA content decreased at the beginning, and gradually reaches a lowest value on Aug.3, and then increased. The contents of ZRs were contrary to IAA. ABA contents showed a trend of rise-fall. The contents of GAs,IAA,ZRs and ABA of the treated groups were less than the control groups.5. The value of ABA/IAA increased just at the start of flower bud physiological differentiation, and then decreased. The value of ABA/(GAs+IAA),ABA/GAs,IAA/GAs,(IAA+ZRs)/GAs showed a trend of rise-fall-rise. The value of ZRs/IAA,ZRs/ABA,ZRs/GAs reaches a highest value on Aug.3, then decreased and at the end of flower bud physiological differentiation, the value increased.
