Harmonia axyridis (Pallas) belongs to the order of Coleoptera, the family of Biphyllidae. It is a most important predatory national enemy including aphids, scale insects, whitefly, psylla, acarid and the eggs, larvae and chrysalides of insects, Lepidoptera and Coleoptera. It has important biological control utilization. The cold storage conditions of Harmonia axyridis eggs and adults in mass-rearing were studied. It will be helpful for the the artificial release and augmentative biological control of Harmonia axyridis (Pallas). The results are as follows.1.The appropriate cold storage conditions for egg of Harmonia axyridis Pallas10 ~ 12℃is more suitable for short-term preservation of egg (10 days). In this temperature, egg's hatching rate is 73.48% and 70.12% after 10 days. The hatching rate declines sharply after 10 days under 12℃. While the survival rate is still over 50% after 16 days under 10℃, and then declines rapidly. The results show that the egg of Harmonia axyridis Pallas can survive longer under 10℃(about 15 days).2. The appropriate cold storage conditions for newly hatched larvae and the third instar larvae of Harmonia axyridis PallasThe appropriate temperature is 5~8℃for larvae Cold Storage of Harmonia axyridis Pallas. Larvae survival rate is 80% after 20 days Under 5~8℃. And the appropriate larva instar for storage is the third instar, for the survival rate is better. By measuring the predation number of the third instar after 20 days in 8℃and 5℃respectively, it shows that 8℃is more beneficial to the larvae's recovery than 5℃, the predation number is close to 70% under 8℃.3. The appropriate cold storage conditions for adut of Harmonia axyridis PallasThe appropriate temperature is 10℃for newly emerging adult cold Storage of Harmonia axyridis Pallas, and the appropriate cold storage period is 30 days. The survival rate is 95.00%,91.67% and 80.00% after 10 days, 20 days and 30 days under 10℃. When adult is transferred to 25℃(12L:12D,RH70-90%)from 10℃, its predation number and the average egg number per female is 78.67 and 965.33.4.The suitable conditions for adult diapause of Harmonia axyridis PallasThe suitable temperature for inducing adult of Harmonia axyridis Pallas to diapause is 14~16℃, the suitable Photoperiod is 4L~8L. Under this conditions, the adult will diapause after fed about 18 to 20 days, and stop completely feeding and moving. 5.The appropriate cold storage conditions for diapause adults of Harmonia axyridis PallasThe appropriate cold storage temperature for diapause adult of Harmonia axyridis Pallas is 8~10℃, after fed 20 days in 15℃(4L:20D,RH=70-90%). The survival rate is still over 85% 120 days later under this conditions. 12℃is suitable for short-term storage, and all diapause adults can survive 50 days under this temperature.
