In this study, we did systematic study on the corn yield of whole-plant and nutritional quality on variety of Nongda108(ND108) and Shang Nong SiYu7(SY7) under different harvest time and five different levels of nitrogen fertilizer treatment by two experiments to investigate the production of the two kinds of forage maize and provide a theoretical basis. The experimental results showed that:Harvest period is a key factor that influences the whole corn feed quality. With the development of the growing stages, the Output of fresh material, dry matter content, ether extract content of the two varieties are showing a increasing trend ,while the content of crude protein shows the opposite trend, neutral detergent fiber and acid detergent fiber content increase first and then decrease, at the same time , this is a marked increasing trend in nutrient composition of feed production and both total energy. General biology of whole-plant corn forage yield and quality, SY7 and ND108 could obtain higher biological production and highest value of feed in growth period of 85-90 d and 90-95d respectively. As the increase of nitrogen fertilizer, fresh material yields of maize and dry matter content and yield increased. However, fresh material yields and dry matter content and yield would decrease instead of increasing ,when the application rate of nitrogen fertilizer beyond a certain number. Effects of nitrogen fertilizer rates on fresh material and corn dry matter yield of both the two varieties , it has the same of result that N4>N5>N3>N2>N1,N4 is the most optimal rate(the application of nitrogen is 337.5kg/hm2). Under this treatment the whole biology yield of the two varieties can reach the peak.As the increase of nitrogen fertilizer, content of crude protein, ether extract content, neutral detergent fiber and acid detergent fiber content, the total energy increased, what more the content of nutrients were significantly enhance the production. The N4 (the application of nitrogen is 337.5kg/hm2) is the best treatment. When the application of nitrogen more than 450kg/hm2, the yield and quality show a decreasing trend.Compared to two varieties of forage maize, the whole biology yield of SY7 is more than that of ND108; the content of crude protein, crude fiber and total energy of SY7 is better than that of ND108. However, the content of crude fat is less than ND108. Considering all the quality , we can conclude that the corn variety of SY7 is better than ND108.
