Seven potato varieties introduced from the cold northern area in Heilongjiang Province and two local varieties were used as materials to study their cultivation adaptability to Lishui's mountainous area of Zhejiang Province. According to the potato yield and quality, and disease resistance and so on , Ke 851 potato was primarily selected to be the material to study the cultivation techniques after two years' experiment. The relevance between the fertilizer quantity (nitrophoskas employing quantity) and the yield and quality (tuber starch content, dry matter content and major or medium potato rate) and several physiological indicators (chlorophyll content, assimilated rate and root system vigor and so on) were explored. The chemical preventing and controlling of late potato blight was also experimented . The main results were as follows:1. Ke 851 potato was well adapted to the local environmental conditions and conventional fertilizer management with 104kg/hm2 of manure and 110 kg/hm2 of nitrogenous fertilizer.2. On the basis of the above, adding phosphate fertilizer or potassium fertilizer increased the potato yield and improved the potato quality and several physiological indicators obviously. However, the best result was obtained with the combination of phosphate and potassium fertilizer .80kg/hm2 of phosphate fertilizer (P2O5) and 190kg/hm2 of potassium fertilizer (K2O).3. 53% golden Radow mil and 58% armor frost spirit manganese zinc were recommended to preventing and controlling of late potato blight.
