Soil salinization has a great influence on the development of agriculture, furthermore, it affects the prosperity of our country. At present, about half of the world's irrigated land have been disserved by salinity hazards. With the rapid development of industrial and agricultural, the increasing population, the growing demand of food, as well as the serious lack of arable land resources, the reclamation of saline soil is greatly attached by the Government. Therefore, forage species, which have a strong salt-tolerance, have a great significance on the development of resources, the development of animal husbandry, tourism ,ecological environment etc.This article selects the tall fescue and ryegrass of cool-season turfgrass species at present, which are more widely grown at present. Different concentrations of NaCl stress are used to deal with tall fescue and ryegrass. The germination rate, relative germination rate, germination index, germination trend, shoot length, vigor index and other indicators were observed and calculated. By two-factor analysis of variance, multiple comparison methods and gray relational grade, the differences of the two grass seeds index were analyzed, thus the basis was provided for selecting salt-tolerant pasture.The results showed that:1. The initial time of pasture germination will be delayed by Salt stress. When the peak period of germination was postponed, germination process slowed.2. Impact of NaCl stress on germination rate of tall fescue and ryegrass seedsThe germination rate of tall fescue and ryegrass seeds slowed down when the concentration of NaCl was increased. The relational grade between Impact of NaCl and germination rate of tall fescue was great.Two-factor analysis of variance results showed that: there are significant differences in germination rate of the two species. And different salt concentration has a great impact on the germination rate; Interaction of grass species and salt concentration achieved a very significant different level. Further multiple comparisons showed: germination rate of tall fescue and ryegrass is significantly different. And the germination rate under different concentrations of stress also has a very significant difference. 3. Impact of NaCl stress on germination trend of tall fescue and ryegrassWith increasing salt concentration, the germination trend and relative germination trend of the two grass seed declined sharply. The relational grade between Impact of NaCl and germination trend of tall fescue was great.4. Impact of NaCl stress on germination index and rate of tall fescue and ryegrassWith increasing salt concentration, the germination index of the two grass seed declined. The relational grade between Impact of NaCl and germination index of tall fescue was great.Two-factor analysis of variance results showed that: there are significant differences in germination index of the two species. And different salt concentration has a great impact on the germination index; Interaction of grass species and salt concentration achieved a very significant different level. Further multiple comparisons showed: germination of the two species is significantly different. And the germination index under different concentrations of stress also has a very significant difference.With increasing salt concentration, the germination rate of the two grass seed increased too. The relational grade between Impact of NaCl and average germination rate of tall fescue was great. So the germination ability of ryegrass is great.5. Impact of NaCl stress on root lengthWith increasing salt concentration, root length of the two grass seed declined.Two-factor analysis of variance results showed that: there are significant differences in root length of the two species. And different salt concentration has a great impact on the root length; Interaction of grass species and salt concentration achieved a very significant different level. Further multiple comparisons showed: root length of tall fescue and ryegrass is significantly different. And the root length under different concentrations of stress also has a very significant difference.6. The analysis of vigor index under different concentrations of NaCl:The vigor index of the two species decreased when the concentration of NaCl increased.The relational grade between concentration of NaCl and vigor index of tall fescue was great. Two-factor analysis of variance results showed that: there are significant differences in vigor index of the two species. And different salt concentration has a great impact on the vigor index; Interaction of grass species and salt concentration achieved a very significant different level. Further multiple comparisons showed: vigor index of tall fescue and ryegrass is significantly different. And the vigor index under different concentrations of stress also has a very significant difference.To sum up, the germination indexes of ryegrass are better than that of tall fescue under salt stress. So salt-tolerance of ryegrass is stronger than that of tall fescue, and ryegrass is more suitable for cultivation in saline.
