By the combination of field survey method and chemical analysis, the ago-geochemical characteristics of the main mineral elements in soil and chestnut of Qianxi County were studied. The results were showed as follows:1. Compared with the background values of soil elements in both China and Hebei Province, the background values of soil total Mg, Fe, Cu and Ni were relatively rich, while those of total S, B and Mo were significantly poor in Qianxi County. The result of descriptive statistics showed that the contents of soil available Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn and total Mg, Fe, Cu were higher, but the other elements contents were lower. The contents of soil P, B and Mo had larger spatial variability.2. According to the results of geo-statistics, total N, K, S, B and available N, K, Mn had the same distribution in Qianxi County, i.e. they were higher in the south and northwest areas than in the middle and northeast areas, and gradually decrease from south to north. Total Fe had the highest value in the north, and available Cu had the lowest value in the middle. The analysis results by statistical method showed that total P, Mg, Cu, Zn, Mo and Ni were higher in the north of the county, but available P, Fe, Zn were higher in the south.3. The results of the relationship between total amounts of nutrients and available contents in 3 soil layers showed that soil N, K, Mn and Zn had significant positive correlations between each total form and available form.4. The analysis of the influencing factors on distribution of soil main mineral elements showed that the type of parent rocks was the most basic and main one. Soil texture, soil type and soil organic matter content also had significant effect, while the altitude had little impact on it.5. Compared with the average contents of the corresponding elements in normal plant, contents of S, Cu, Cl and Ni in chestnuts were higher, while those of N and P had no significant difference. The order of absorption intensity of chestnuts on the main mineral elements was N>S>P>Cl>K>Cu>B>Zn>Mg>Ni>Mo>Mn>Ca>Fe. Except S and Zn, the other elements'contents of chestnuts growing in different areas of the county had some difference. Chestnut is a calcium-tolerant plant. 6. The relationship between soil elements and plant elements showed that, in 20-40cm and 40-60cm soil layers, total P had significant negative relationship with plant P, and in 0-20cm and 40-60cm soil layers, total K had significant negative relationship with plant K. While in 0-40cm soil layer, total Cu had significant positive relationship with plant Cu, and in 0-60cm soil layer, Mo and Ni had significant positive relationship with the corresponding elements in chestnuts.
