Temperature stress is the most important factor to cucumber grown in greenhouse. Recently, there were only little research on the cucumber roots in the fruit stage. In this study, we investigated the cucumber roots of fruit stage grown in greenhouse under temperature stress. Aims at providing theoretical basis for cucumber cultivation in greenhouse. We chose the pumpkin as grafted rootstock and determined the temperature tolerance of grafted cucumber root system. High temperature was divided into three level (25~35℃, 35~45℃, 45~55℃), Low temperature was divided into three level (3~5℃, 8~12℃, 15~18℃).The results indicated that:1,Effect of high temperature stress on the cucumber root system:1.1 The enzyme activity of root system under temperature between 35~45℃was higher than the other treatments. Followed by treatment between 25~35℃, and lowest between 45~55℃.1.2 The membrane lipid peroxidation under high temperature treatment between 25~35℃was less than the other two treatments. Temperature treatment between 45~55℃have brought most severely damage to the membrane.1.3 The activity of GSH under treatment between 35~45℃was higher than the treatment of 45~55℃. Treatment between 45~55℃was less than 25~35℃.1.4 The content of AsA under treatment between 35~45℃was higher than 25~35℃, 25~35℃higher than 45~55℃treatment before the treatment of 28 days.1.5 The NR activity in roots under treatment between 35~45℃was higher than 25~35℃. However, the treatment between 45~55℃was lower than the control.2,Effect of low temperature stress on cucumber root system2.1 The enzyme activity of grafted cucumber roots was higher than the activity of own rooted cucumber roots under low temperature stress.2.2 The cell membrane lipid peroxidation of grafted cucumber roots was less than the own rooted cucumber roots under low temperature stress..2.3 The content of AsA and the activity of GSH were higher in grafted cucumber root under low temperature stress.2.4 The activity of NR was higher in grafted cucumber than in own rooted cucumber.3,There was higher cold tolerance in grafted cucumber root system than in own rooted cucumber root system.
