To detect the stripe rust resistance genes ,M8003-5 and Mingxian169 were inoculated with the seven chinese known stripe rust races under controlled greenhouse,the result shows M8003-5 resistant all races. Genetic analysis indicated that the resistance of M8003-5 against race Su11-4 was conferred by a dominant gene, which were temporally designated as YrM8003. SSRs marker polymorphic analysis were used to map the resistance gene in F2 segregation population. Eleven SSR markers,as follows Xbarc5,Xwmc463,Xwmc405,Xbarc126,Xgwm295,Xgwm44,Xwmc702,Xwmc438,Xwmc121,Xgwm111 and Xbarc128 which on the chromosome 7DS were ultimately found to be linked to YrM8003 . The closest makers were Xwmc702and Xwmc438,and the genetic distances was 3.5cM and 4.3 cM, respectively. This gene was consider to be derived from Secale cereale L.accroding to some analysis and molecular markers analysis results. Comparison of the stripe rust resistance gene with the other resistance genes located on 7D , showed that YrM8003 may be a novel gene. YrM8003 was not screened in 80% of the 43 wheat cultivars from Huang-huai wheat grown area using the closest markers Xwmc702 and Xwmc438. Exploration and utilization of YrM8003 are important to wheat assistance breeding program and with known molecular markers is helpful to evaluate and test wheat cultivars more efficiently.
