Through the combined method of field investigation and laboratory analysis, this paper analyzed the relation of soil salinization characteristics and micro-topography changes, the relation between quantitative characteristics of halophytes assemblage and micro-topography changes and the salt chemical characteristics of main halophytes in the western Tumote Plain for finding the response between soil salinization and halophytes assemblages. The results show that:1.In the Spring, soil moisture of 10-50cm soil layers and micro-topography changes had significant negative correlation. With the micro-topography changes, soil aeration porosity showed an nonlinear upward trend. In the Summer, soil moisture and soil aeration porosity didn't significantly relate to micro-topography changes. With the micro-topography changes, the soil total salt concent showed an nonlinear upward trend. However, the soil salinity type ,soil salinization degrees, exchangeable sodium percentage and pH was non-significant association with micro-topography.The majority ESP was about 10%,slightly alkaline, and the ESP of soil plots in the summer were generally lower than in the spring. The weighted mean of soil pH was 8.82 9.83.2. The growing of vegetation influenced the soil moisture of surface layer. In the spring, plant moisture and soil moisture had significant correlation.;in the summer, plant moisture and soil moisture of 5-10cm soil layer had significant negative correlation. With the increase of micro-topography, the number of plant species was decreasing.Besides, the proportion of Compositae in all plants slightly decreased, while the Gramineae and Chenopodiaceae increased. The magnesium ions content of the soil and Artemisia anethifolia had significant negative correlation. The magnesium ions and the total salt content of between Phragmites australis and soil had significant positive correlation.3. Ions chemical characteristics in the main halophytes:Artemisia anethifolia was the characteristics of "refusing Mg2+"; Suaeda glauca was the characteristics of "enriching Cl-" ; Carex tristachya was the characteristics of " refusing Mg2+ and SO42-" ; Leymus chinensis was the characteristics of "enriching HCO3-, refusing Cl-"; Phragmites australis was the characteristics of " enriching Ca2+"; Achnatherum splendens was the characteristics of " refusing SO42-"; Astragalus membranaceus was the characteristics of "enriching Ca2+ and HCO3-,refusing K++Na+";Aeluropus sinensis was the characteristics of " enriching Cl-, refusing HCO3-".
