The test is in the hungriness extreme arid region of annual rainfall less than 40㎜ and no groundwater recharge, studying the relationship of hygroscopic salts and plant water sources in the soil salinity layer, and investigate survive mechanism of hungriness plant Reaumuria soongorica. The results show following:1.Generally,gray-brown desert soil profile have desalination and accumulation layers in the Ejina, which contain a small amount of baking soda in the desalination layer and hygroscopic salt in the accumulation layers. In the case of no rainfall and no groundwater recharge, the plants water mainly from hygroscopic salts in the soil salinity layer, which can absorpt water vapor from atmosphere to liquid.2.The liquid content of soil salinity layer and hygroscopic salts content are positive correlation, but the relationship with total salt is less obvious.3.The hygroscopic salts are different types with different capacities, and with different holding water capacity. Test results, reach conclusion absorption capacity are being: CaCl2>MgCl2>MgSO4.4.The Reaumuria soongorica roots do water and salt exchange only in salt accumulation layer region, Reaumuria soongorica have high salt concentration, osmotic pressure is much higher than soil, led the water into the root system. The osmolality order show:leaf>stem>root>soil.5.According to different sources of water, proposed new classification of Reaumuria soongorica:Reaumuria soongorica which only depend on strong hygroscopic salt to provide water, generally, distributing in the desert region where are absence of rainfall and no groundwater; Reaumuria soongorica which they both rely on rainfall and hygroscopic salt supplying, distributing in the semi-desert area whit small amount of effective rainfall; Reaumuria soongorica which only reply on rainfall and groundwater to supply water, mainly distributing in dry grassland.
