In this paper, analysising NDVI of natural grassland and different types grass in different years and interannual, reached the space evolution of natural grassland and trend analysis in Ximeng basin are analyzed based on SPOT-NDVI data from 1998 to 2007 by using remote sensing and geographic information system software and then using the average value method, simple differencing linear regression of one variable and. And then Combin with climate data, we research the correlation of NDVI with the rainfall and temperature, This paper declares the characteristic of vegetation cover change and the correlation with climate factors. It does make sense to ecological environment protections and research in this area. Main conclusions are as follows:1.vegetation is decreasing from northeast to southwest, the vegetation is declined, concluded from the rate of change from the NDVI map and the tendency of the slope map in 1998-2007.2.NDVI of spring, summer and autumn showed downward trend, declining trend in decreasing order:summer, spring and autumn in the 1998-2007 time period.3. Space from the precipitation and temperature evolution of the results did not pass the significance test in most parts of the study area.4.Positive and negative between natural grassland NDVI and temperature are coexistence, but only a few areas through the test of significance. Natural grassland NDVI is positively correlated with precipitation, most of the region through a=0.1 the significance test.
